Luke Littler thrashes James Wade 11-2 to win UK Open

Luke Littler has won the UK Open in emphatic fashion, beating James Wade 11-2 in Sunday's final.

It's the first time Littler, 18, has won the competition, but it's just the latest in his growing list of of successes in his young career.

Littler looked on course for a whitewash over Wade, storming out to a 9-0 lead in the first to 11 match.

Wade did fight back in the 10th leg, but there was no stopping Littler who cruised to victory with an average of 101.51 compared to Wade's 88.06.

"It's one I've wanted to win. It's my third time here, I came here two years ago as a 16-year-old, last year I was in the quarter-final and now I've gone two better this year to win it," Littler said.

"I had a job to do, I just wanted to pick up the trophy and it's one I can tick off the list now.

"I'm looking at the Premier League, making sure I'm in the top four and making sure I go to the O2. I've got the Pro Tour, the Players Championship and back to the Premier League. It's going to be a long few weeks."

Littler will pocket £110,000 ($139,000) for the victory.
