10.31 pm Lahore more than double up Islamabad tonight, winning by 119 runs. They've now won five straight over Islamabad after this dismantling. More importantly, Lahore are now in pole position at the top of the table with one match left to play. Meanwhile, not only have Islamabad lost but their net run rate took such a hammering tonight that Multan Sultans and Peshawar Zalmi are both in with a chance of overtaking Islamabad for second place on the table if their franchise can win their last two matches and Islamabad loses their final match, which is against Zalmi. Peshawar plays Multan tomorrow so that match is effectively an eliminator for who can still chase down Islamabad for second place.
Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan is speaking on field right now. Most of the interview is in Urdu but there's a snippet of English in there when asked about his team's performance where he shrugs and says, "Catches win matches." That's all that needed to be said in English to sum up why and where he lost this match. Fakhar Zaman dropped on 1 and 71 before making 115 in the end.
Maruf : "I know I'm late but just taking my chance to say fakhar Zaman beat IU by 8 runs "
Fakhar Zaman is named Player of the Match for his century.
That'll do it for today's live coverage. Come back tomorrow for a key showdown between Multan Sultans and Peshawar Zalmi. Until then, take care!
