Phew, that brings us to an end to another exhilarating match but tomorrow it's the blockbuster high-voltage affair between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings - which is the biggest domestic rivalry in Pakistan cricket! Until the next one, this is Rvel Zahid waving goodbye
Despair on one hand and joy on the other. Quetta Gladiators, a team that embodies competitive spirit and skill, have won this sea-saw battle. After faltering early on, Guptill played a sensational innings in which he completely annihilated Kings' bowling attack and that blistering century gave them a fighting total which inspired Quetta's bowlers to put up a concerted bowling effort and the likes of Hasnain, Naseem, Nawaz and Ahmad responded well. It was the gun bowling that scripted Quetta's win in the end. The 86-run stand between the lone-ranger Malik and Niazi kept them alive in the contest but the 18th and 19th overs were crucial where the Pakistan national team's quicks showed their temperament and quality.
Sarfaraz Ahmed, Quetta Gladiators captain: "We had the belief at the halfway stage that we could defend the total. The bowlers bowled brilliantly, especially in the last three overs. It's important to get some momentum early on in the league and hopefully, Guptill can continue his form. It is not easy to bowl in the second innings but our bowlers were spot-on with the execution and that made my job easy."
Martin Guptill, Player of the Match: "After being four down in seven overs is never ideal and to be able to do it at the end, big credit goes to Iftikhar (Ahmed). I tried to stay as deep as possible and tried to be positive as it was a difficult wicket to bat on."
Imad Wasim, Karachi Kings captain: "We bowled really well in the first six overs, we should have restricted them under 160. Few errors in the field and the drop catches didn't help either. We are bowling well in the powerplay, but not backing up in the middle overs. We shouldn't be written off yet."
Jonny: "Disappointed KK Fan: The only reason behind these losses is KK is dependent on performances of Imad, Malik, Yamin, "
ShahSafeer: "Malik has been one of the finest players in this format but could never become a match winner. Perhaps this is why he's lonely senior local who has not won this tournament as yet!"
Ahsan Butt: "Put Malik back in Pakistan squad please!"
Tanzeel : "24 off the last over reminds me 4 sixes by Asif Ali against Afghanistan. Will that going to happen in PSL too.....
muhammad ietsam: "Amazing stuff from the young duo of naseem and husnain ,took the game completely away from Karachi "
Tanzeel : "Fantastic death bowling by Quetta Bowlers. "
Hk: "Naseem you beauty
Paul Wrennall: "The non Asian players in this tounament must be fed up with theie Asian teammates feilding. They sould take a month off, without pay to practice feilding only"
Hk: "Positivity goes a long way which is what KK is missing and than like someone mentioned domestic talent rarely ever seen any youngster from KK making the headlines "
Faheem : "Haider Ali's poor shot selections and poor temperament overshadowed his talents. Malik on other hand 'pesa wasool' performances."
