That shakes up the Points Table. If Quetta can win big against Karachi tomorrow noon and Multan beats Islamabad in the evening, Quetta can get through. It's a long shot but a possibility nonetheless. Everything's set up perfectly for tomorrow. Join us then. For now, I'm Ekanth signing off on behalf of our scorer, Ranjith. Take care and stay safe.
Shaheen Afridi, Lahore Captain: After 12/3, our comeback was great. Credit to Fakhar and Harry for the 100-run partnership. The performance was good on the whole. We thought that if Fakhar stays in after the powerplay, he can carry on and go big. Harry had played a great innings in Karachi, so we knew he could do it. This was great too. Zaman has been impressive. He wants to bowl and asks for overs. He will represent Pakistan in the future. (On Rashid) He is the no 1 bowler. Hope he plays well for country, we will miss playing with him.
Harry Brook, Player of The Match for 102*(49): It was good fun and I'm happy that the team posted good score. I have mentioned previously that I want to be a match-winner, and take the team from the hardest parts and turn it around to a good situation. Playing in Lahore has been fun, the crowds have been phenomenal. (On being asked if this his best knock) It was up there with some of the best knocks I've played.
Asif Ali, Islamabad Captain: The early wickets were great but credit goes to opposition batters who played really well. (On being asked about preparation after they lost the last match by 10 runs) We tried to back our abilities but couldn't get through. Injuries have shaken up our batting order. Apart from that, Hasan Ali suffered from one post-toss. We'll have to wait and see what happens in the future in that regard.
AA: "The total runs scored by Fakhar and Brook today (153) was higher than their team total yesterday, which shows you the immense improvement by their team today "
taha: "Shaheen has taken wickets 1 and 2, Rashid number 3 and 4, Zaman 5 and 6 while Rauf 7 and 8. Weise has taken 9th." Yes, in chronological order! Cool observation, that.
Rashid Khan, 4-0-19-2: This team is like family. I'm happy to have been here and wish the team all the best. My role in the team has been great. I'm happy to leave the team while we are on top of our game. The team environment is great as everyone supports each other. (On discussion after yesterday's loss) We looked to play our natural game, take the last game out of mind and focus on today's match. We wanted to execute the skills and entertain the crowd.
11:30 pm: Lahore seal a 66-run win and a spot in the top 2. After Brook's flourish earlier, the second innings started well for Lahore as Shaheen took two wickets in his second over. Islamabad's experiment with Liam Dawson and Mohammad Wasim started okay but went against them as Lahore's pacers figured out that slower ones could keep the batters down. Azam Khan faced collateral damage as he faced Rashid at his top and Kamran Ghulam who was economical and threatening. As the scoreboard pressure built, Islamabad's lower middle order crumbled crashing to a heavy defeat.
Ali Raza: "A loss off 60 runs is gonna cost IU playoff spot or not? Let's find out if QG wins tomorrow and IU loose the next..Whats your say?" If Islamabad lose heavily to Multan and Quetta win big, Quetta go through. It's not impossible but not likely either. Think Islamabad will still make it.
