That's that from ESPNcricinfo's live coverage of Match 14 of PSL 2022. Don't forget us to join us again for what will be the last PSL 2022 game at the National Stadium Karachi before the action shifts to Lahore. For now, it's goodbye and goodnight from Momin Butt and the rest of the team.
Shadab Khan is the player of the match for his all-round brilliance. "I have struggled a lot in the last two years through injuries. Since I've regained fitness, I have found control and am glad that I am putting in the performances. These personal milestones are very important and I am extremely happy. I am very satisfied with the team combination. We wanted to win the toss and bat to put our bowlers in a different situation and they returned the trust. I want to specifically mention Azam Khan's cameo at the very end. It gave us a lot of momentum going into the 2nd innings."
Babar Azam: "Unfortunately we have lost all games so far. I will try to give the boys more confidence going ahead. We're hoping we'll play better in Lahore. I think we leaked some extra runs but I still felt that it was chase-able."
Presentations coming shortly
Nazir Khan : "KK 5 played 5 lost whereas Multan 5 played and 5 won. What a contrast "
Zia Abbasi: "What an irony it that only achievment of KK is that they have played complete 20 overs, leave aside giving tough time or winning. "
Noaman Khan: "The only differnce between the two sides is Shadab Khan. Scored some quick runs to put Kings under pressure and took crucial wickets to break the back of the chase."
11.10 PM: Safe to say that Islamabad United have outclassed and outsmarted the Karachi Kings tonight. Chasing 178 runs on a slow strip like tonight's was always going to be an uphill task for a batting line-up that hasn't piled up the runs throughout this leg of the tournament. They started sluggishly again and lost the whole of their top four in the first eight overs. It was, once again, the United skipper Shadab Khan who can't seem to put a foot wrong and to whom the bowling honors belong tonight as well. He scalped four preys in a spell where he leaked just 15 runs and took the sting out of the opposition's middle and lower orders. Shadab was well supported by the rest of the attack and despite Mohammad Nabi's lusty blows at the rear-end, they have secured a comprehensive victory. Karachi, meanwhile, have now lost to each team at their home turf and it's just a miserably sorry-looking points table for them at the moment.
Islamabad United have won by 42 runs
Mohammad Wasim to bowl the last
