Rizwan still feels there are areas of improvement, especially in the field, but he's very happy with the performance. "The pitch was quite good and the ball was coming on to the bat. We thought even if we took the game deep, we could get the runs required. But we were going along nicely and it was a relief to finish it off sooner.
Dhani is the Player of the Match, and why not? "There was lots of dew, and Azhar Mehmood told us to keep that in mind when I bowled. I rushed through the first over, but I knew whenever the momentum swings, things can go your way very quickly. The captain kept encouraging me and that paid off."
Dhani dedicates this win to "the big fellow" Carlos Brathwaite. What a sweet, fun chap he is, couldn't happen to a nicer guy, all this.
1.55pm What a chase from the Multan Sultans. At no stage did they show any kind of nerves. Their approach crystal clear: take the aggressive route and tear down the target without giving the opposition a sniff. Maqsood and Rizwan were terrific in their second-wicket stand that did a bulk of the legwork. As brilliant as the two were, I reckon the Player of the Match could be Shahnawaz Dhani, who took 4 for 31 earlier in the night.
Zalmi captain Wahab Riaz: "We didn't execute well, the bowlers tried too hard. Batting-wise, we were 10-15 short. Dew affected us, but can't take away anything from Rizwan and Maqsood. If we bowled better, we could've defended it. Today was just a bad day at the office, we need to forget this and move on swiftly to the Karachi Kings game."
