11.00 pm Islamabad United complete their highest ever successful chase in franchise history. And it goes back to that 20th over in the field in the first innings. Extraordinary death bowling to concede no boundaries and take two wickets, including that of Tim David, was the turning point in the match. Faheem then comes in at the death on the batting side for Islamabad United and with more than 13 an over needed off the last five, including 18 off the final over, drags it back to win with a ball to spare. That last ball was credited as a four instead of a single as well which means Faheem also brought up his half-century to end the match.
Islamabad United head coach Azhar Mahmoud: "Absolutely brilliant from Faheem Ashraf. He showed his class and character. He's one of the best allrounders in Pakistan and shows over and over again for Islamabad United. I'm really pleased for him and the way he finished the game for us? Unreal! We talked about self-belief and he showed it to the last ball. This is a good start for us. Shadab is getting back into form. Everyone is chipping in. It's not just Azam Khan and Asif Ali but everyone is chipping in and that's a good sign for the whole team. When there's competition for places, that's good to keep everyone on their toes. In the last four overs, they had one of the best hitters of the ball in the cricket world batting and we bowled really well. I'm proud of our guys for executing their plans under pressure and keeping things under control. Winning a crucial game against a team we lost to twice last year will give us lots of confidence. Hopefully these guys keep doing good things for the team."
Faheem Ashraf is named Player of the Match.
That'll do it for tonight's coverage. Come back tomorrow for more PSL action. Until then, take care!
