7:49pm That brings to an end an innings that never really got going. Roy threatened to take the game away from the Sultans but that proved to be an aberration in an innings that largely stuttered and stumbled. Ihsanullah, with his five-wicket haul, was the star of the show. He bowled with fire and bowled in the right areas, causing the Gladiators all sorts of problems. Hafeez's batting position also left a lot to be desired, as did the Gladiators' batting against express pace. From a Sultans' perspective, though, this was a perfect bowling display. After winning the toss, they picked up three wickets in the powerplay and laid the platform for Ihsanullah to do his bit.
At the half-way stage, the Sultans will definitely be the happier of the two sides. But if this pitch continues assisting fast-bowling, the Gladiators' Hasnain and Naseem could have a say in this contest. If that will be enough, well, remains to be seen. Do join us in a bit for the run-chase!
Ihsanullah: It feels very good. I made a few mistakes in the first match. In this match, I bowled length balls and that is why I could pick up five wickets. (On his pace) The pitch is supporting pacers. (On the support from the fans) The support is very great and hopefully I can keep performing in the games to come.
