That's us done, then. Thanks so much for sticking by us and join us again tomorrow

Right, what a cracker of a contest that was. As you might expect, Hazratullah Zazai is the Player of the Match

"I performed like this on my PSL debut last week, and I just got confidence from that. When you have confidence, and when I struck that first six off Amir, I felt it was my day. I was pacing myself to stay ahead of the rate because I was in the zone. I was looking to make things easy for the batsmen that followed, and thankfully we did that."

Wahab Riaz says there's lots of pressure on him as the captain but praises the team. "I was just praying our batting gets us over the line. As a captain, losing the playoff game against Lahore hurt us a lot because I felt we would have won that if I bowled a good over. Karachi is a big team but we showed character. We gave our all in the field and it was very satisfying to see."

He's confident there won't be a drop-off against Islamabad United. "The pressure will be on Islamabad because of how ell they've played now that they are one game away from elimination. I'm just happy we get another chance against them."

END OF OVER:

  • Mohammad Amir7 (2b)
  • Mohammad Ilyas4 (3b)
  • Mohammad Imran4-0-37-1
  • Umaid Asif4-0-37-2

11.51pm The last five overs went for 70. It's a par-ish score, but Kings sort of have the momentum at the break. Riaz has a small huddle with his boys before leaving the field. Their openers will have to set the tone early.

Sharjeel and Babar got the early runs for Kings. Babar then carried on despite three wickets falling around him. Perera then helped Kings change ears, and Imad-Amir helped them set a 176 target. Overall, the Zalmi bowlers were on the mark. A couple of expensive overs means they've let Kings score 15 runs more than they'd have liked.

Mohammad Imran to Mohammad Amir, 3 runs, full, just outside off. Slogged to deep midwicket, and it should be one, but misfield! Allows them to attempt the third, and although Akmal breaks the stumps that looks like three. Kings finish on 175
19.5
4
Mohammad Imran to Mohammad Amir, FOUR, good length, wider outside off. Makes room to get the arc of his bat to go through. Clobbered through cover!

Don't think Imran would mind not getting a wicket in that Zazai drop, but that drop allowed Kings to get two extra runs in the 20th over. Little things in an eliminator can change the game

Mohammad Imran to Mohammad Ilyas, 1 leg bye, full, outside leg. Misses the flick. Ball goes to the off side after hitting the pads

Mohammad Imran to Mohammad Ilyas, 2 runs, fullish, outside off. Slogs leg side, but it's gone in the air. Square leg gets under it, but it pops out of his hand as he dives forward. Zazai the guilty party

Mohammad Imran to Imad Wasim, OUT, can't put this slot ball away. Full outside off, but he made too much room. Mistimes the shot, and taken at long on

So an expensive final over makes Umaid's numbers look bad but he's bowled well tonight

Umaid Asif to Imad Wasim, 2 runs, full, on middle. Looks to muscle it over deep midwicket but doesn't have the timing. Rutherford runs across to take the catch, but he's dropped it! Can Imam hurt Zalmi for that

Umaid Asif to Imad Wasim, SIX, short ball, going away from him, but he slaps it hard, and the slash has enough to clear the man at third man!

Umaid Asif to Imad Wasim, FOUR, fullish, on off. Stands tall and bat-swings it strongly to long on!

Wahab Riaz to Walton, 2 runs, aims for the yorker, ends up as a low full toss. Driven towards Imam at deep cover manning the boundary

swaseem: "@Isaac Marshall Babar's weakness at the death is definitely not just a myth. Babar averages 13 in 21 innings at the death at a strike rate of 140 (in T20Is). He struggles with outright power hitting, and it is often a relief when he exits early in the death overs to give time to proper power hitters to do their work. "

Umaid Asif to Perera, OUT, it's over but Perera has done his job...although Kings would've wanted a bit more. Back of a length, slower ball outside off. Perera looks to hammer it over deep midwicket, but one hand is off the bat midway through the shot, and comfortably taken at long on
