Kunal : "Being able to reach a good score in absence of a star batter "
Vinod Rajpal: "This is a super comeback by the Women's after been to 134/5 in 26 to 280 score, this is not going to be a cake walk chase for Aussies !"
Two of those four have been while batting at No.9. All other players combined have one fifty in women's ODIs while batting at No.9 or lower.
Here's Sampath rolling in with the statistical highlights: All four ODI fifties by Pooja Vastrakar have come while batting at No.8 or lower. No other woman scored more than two fifties while batting at No.8 or lower in ODIs.
Pooja Vastrakar: Very good innings for us, plan on the wicket was to get 270+. Jemi and I wanted to play till the end. We aimed for 250 at the start but knew we could go over 270 if we stayed there. We didn't target bowlers but tried to get away every ball we could. Jemi was tired but was still insisting on running quick which motivated me. We have gotten the target we were looking for, hope to defend it now. Really happy personally to have batted well against an excellent Australian side.
4:55pm India finish what was a tug-of-war of an innings where both teams had the upper hand at different times. It was Australia who got an initial advantage with two powerplay wickets. Brown getting one to hoop back in to beat Shafali's inside edge was a peach. Ghosh was positive but Sutherland sent her back with a leading edge that popped to mid-off. Brown's blinder to send back Harman early seemed huge at the time. But Yastika kept India rolling with measured strokeplay. Wareham started poorly, conceding three fours off her first three balls, but a full toss had Yastika hole out to long leg on 49. Jemimah took over as the anchor and got Deepti and Amanjot for support. They kept the run rate around five but Deepti and Wareham ended budding partnerships to wobble India. Sneh Rana fell to Schutt with India on 182 for 7. But Jemimah then joined forces with Vastrakar to pull India out of trouble. She was cooked by the heat but managed to keep her shot selection and running on point. Vastrakar found her timing early and the duo put on 68 off just 54 to take India to 250. Vastrakar then pummelled the bowlers at the death to take the hosts over 280.
Schutt handed the ball for the final over
