4.30pm How crucial were those lat blows from Haque and Brathwaite? They plundered 55 in 3.3 overs to lift Khulna to 170. Chittagong's batsmen never really got going in the chase, eventually coming up short by 18 runs. Abu Jayed did the damage upfront with three wickets in his first two overs. He then returned to end a scratchy innings from Misbah. Archer then nailed the yorkers and cutters in the end to help seal victory.
Misbah: I think the bowlers gave away so many runs in the last few overs, and that cost us the game. And we lost early wickets with the bat. 150-155 could have been the total after we took four wickets. At the end, only 18 runs difference, and there are some positives.
Mahmudullah: We handed the pressure well. Haque batted well, and in the end Carlos also. I think it was a good pitch to bat first though it is tough to predict Mirpur wickets. Rossouw's catch gave us good momentum in the match.
Abu Jayed is the Man of the Match: I just tried my level best and I am happy with my bowling. It is tough to bowl in the Powerplays, but the pitch is slow, and I tried slower balls.
"I have just broken a couple of stumps," Archer says. It does not happen so often. That yorker came out as good as it can be. The way the team has comeback in the last two games has been good."
Mahneel: "Great captaincy by Mahmudullah as always. Coming in and resisting a collapse while keeping the scoreboard ticking, making great bowling changes and withstanding the urge to bring himself in to the bowling attack. All round stuff by Khulna!"
Saadat Ahmadzai: "Clearly CHV is missing one or two big hitters at the middle and lower order to accompany Misbah"
That is all we have for you from this match. Hope you enjoyed the coverage as much as we did bringing to you. Do tune in for the second match of the day between Rajshahi and Comilla. Until then, goodbye
Janal: "If u all are wondering how and why KT picked Jofra Archer, Mahela Jayawardena who is the coach of KT now, played for Sussex in the recent NatWest T20 Blast, and realized he was an amazing talent."
