11:45pm And that is all we have from the live coverage today. See you again soon!
Dane van Niekerk: Couldn't fault the girls today. Shabnim and Kapp gave us a pace bowling clinic. Honestly felt like the extras pretty shocking. Sounds harsh but 20-30 extras makes it difficult in a high pressure tournament. I think I went from a 100 to 0. Hit the ball well initially but struggled a bit in the end. It was just nice to have the batsman finishing the job for the bowlers.
Chamari Atapattu: I think the South Africans bowled well in the Powerplay, especially Shabnim and Kapp. We needed 120 on this pitch, 100 was not enough to defend. We did well towards the end, but couldn't get 120. Our bowling started very well but unfortunately we couldn't get Kapp's wicket.
Shabnim Ismail is the Player of the Match.
11:31pm Points on the board for South Africa. Some issues to fix on the field, but they've been clinical otherwise. Superb bowling up front to take Sri Lankan wickets, and a nice finish by their premier fast bowlers too. Shabnim and Kapp were the stars in the field, before the latter had to return at No. 3. It was tricky for some time. Prabhodani was swinging it viciously and the openers were gone off consecutive deliveries. She had to dig in with Niekerk and they did it to perfection in the end. No significant rain delays in this game and that is an inspiring prospect in St. Lucia at the moment. Group A is up and alive.
Ismail starred with 3 for 10 in South Africa's victory over Sri Lanka, while Kapp picked up 1 for 13
