7.30 pm Pakistan set a very stiff target for Ireland. Muneeba creates history for Pakistan as the first woman to score a T20I century for the country, sailing past the previous best of any Pakistan Women's player which was 75 by Nida Dar in 2019. She entered today with a best of 43 and an average of 14.17 in 42 innings. She played some glorious shots and showed outstanding footwork and creativity throughout. However, she benefitted from some extremely bad Irish fielding, getting her first life on 45. It was one of several missed chances that allowed her to carry on to three figures, and the shot that brought up the century should have been a dot ball to extra cover but went through the legs of Cara Murray for a boundary. Besides the drops, Ireland's ground fielding in the ring was very sloppy in general. They've given away 25-30 runs in the field at a minimum. Having said all that, they chased a similar target in a warm-up match against Australia on the eve of the tournament. So the match is still very much alive. Stay tuned for the chase.
Phani: "One of the worst fielding efforts I have ever seen across formats of cricket. No effort to stop singles, lazy ground fielding and incredibly poor catching.Inexplicable in all senses this effort so far from Irish girls."
Among Full Member players, Muneeba's is the third highest score for a player to not hit a six. It's also the highest score in a Women's T20 World Cup without hitting a six, besting the previous mark of 81 not out v Bangladesh by Beth Mooney in 2020.

Alex: "18.1 why on Earth wouldn't she attempt the run out. Ireland can't have given up here? Is she demoralised from all the drops and midfields?" It was bizarre for sure.
