DANIEL FOOT: "It could have been alot worse for India but it could have been a hell of alot better"
Babu Duraiswamy: "Exactly a month ago, India have successfully chased down a target of 174 against Australia - All is not lost, just get a good start and see if the pressure gets transferred! "
Elsewhere, yesterday's second leg of the Chennaiyin FC vs FC Goa semi-final in the Indian Super League refused to peter out as such high-pressure contests often do. In the end, though, Chennaiyin's miracle men did just enough to halt Goa's near-comeback.
7:25pm Dominant. Australia have showed up and how. A 115-run stand for the opening wicket that completely flattened India. India, remember, wanted to bat first and began with three full tosses and a dropped catch in the first over. That first over also went for runs. The pressure was on early and Alyssa Healy made sure she would not let it go. Piled on more and more, was dropped once more, and India looked completely blindsided till they got her wicket. But, at the other end, was Beth Mooney. While none of the other batsmen could bring in a cameo to follow the opening stand, she kept the scoring brisk and sprinted to yet another fifty, getting inventive at the end when required. India's best phase came late in the innings, but could it just end up being damage control? No one has scored 184 in a women's T20 final before. The surface is certainly good enough for two team to get that score tonight - but the pressure is what it will be about from here. We'll see how it goes. Australia with the advantage coming out for this second half.
Over the wicket now.
Radha Yadav for the last over. Can she keep it tight? Around the wicket
