2.5 Finally gets his line and length pitch-perfect and gets the reward; such a clever operator, doesn't take long for him to find the right plan; tossed on middle and the ball kind of sticks in the surface, QDK lunges at it and gets caught in two minds, ending up chipping it back to Motie who swallows it gladly and tosses the ball in the air while celebrating. Pressure was building, it has been a somewhat sedate powerplay and GAW have got the big fish early in the piece! Vital breakthrough. He was rooting back in his crease and tries to punch it over Motie, nothing shot in the end, kind of a soft dismissal 16/1
4.5 Massive prolonged lbw appeal in unison but the umpire moves away; looked close, slightly short and hits the front pad and then rolls over to the leg-side, throw came in from square leg hits the stumps at non-striker's end but he is well in. Romario Shepherd looks in some discomfort, sprained his heel on the landing foot and is getting some medical attention. Hang on a minute; the review is spot on! nothing on the ultra-edge, pitching outside off, impact in line and hitting leg stump fully, Cornwall has to go! Second strike and we're still not done with powerplay. GAW roar back and put BR under pressure. This is a massive wicket because he was looking in great nick and timing the ball well. There'll be some rebuilding required now. It was a slowish delivery 36/2
10.2 A bit slower in air and deceives him in flight; Imran Tahir is a master of his craft; the highest wicket-taker in the history of CPL does it again; seldom disappoints in crunch moments and big games! Subtly changes his pace, flighted on tad short length outside off and looks like it was a wrong'un, he waited for a moment before deciding to take the aerial route; larruped it high and didn't get enough, man patrolling long-on region hangs onto it brilliantly. Couple of batters have struggled with their timing on this slow surface, this is not good from BR 75/4
9.4 Air Hetmyer takes a spellbinding catch charging in from long-off! Alleyne will be gutted with himself, this was a rank full-toss on off and his lit up, he wanted to take full advantage of that but the ball hits high on the bat and he gets some elevation but it was never going to clear the ropes, exceptional work from Hetmyer sprinting at full throttle and diving forward, excellent, excellent catch! Moeen Ali has the last laugh, he has been in terrific form, even a full-toss yields him wicket. Royals find themselves in a picke, they get a semblance of control and then lose a wicket, this has been the pattern of the innings so far. Athanaze needs to hold the innings together now and keep finding the odd boundary, punish loose deliveries; he has looked a million dollars thus far. Powell, Miller and Holder to come in next. Somebody needs to play a fiery knock 73/3
11.5 Powell cannot believe what he has done, shellshocked and not ready to leave the crease. GAW once again manage to peg them back. I didn't jinx him. Once again, leans back and tries to smoke that out of the park over cow corner, didn't get the requisite distance and has to go. Powell slowly takes the long walk back towards the pavilion, once again a batter gets in and the gets out without substantial damage, beautifully caught at long-on. Massive moment in this Qualifer, everybody knows it 87/5
18.1 Pretorius to bowl the penultimate over. Long gaps between the overs, don't know why On a length at sixth stump and slackens the pace, lures him with the bait and gives room, Miller had to go but the bat turned and he lost his shape while trying to pump it over wide long-off, Hetmyer has safe pair of hands and he takes a gem, safe outfielder. It's a big wicket which will dent BR hopes, he needed a flurry of boundaries here to give them a respectable total. Just sliced it in the air, credit to the bowler for getting his off-cutter right, not giving the pace Miller was looking for 139/6
19.3 Banged in short on middle, tried to tug that out of the park and gets a fat top-edge that balloons up, Shai Hope charges in gobbles it up gleefully towards short point, BR in complete disarray, lacking the fiery finish. 147/7
19.6 Bouncer, hops over the batter, charges to tonk it into the leg-side, hustling and bustling down the track to sneak one, no full-length dive at the non-striker's end and Theekshana is short of his crease, two back-to-back run outs 148/10
19.4 Touch short with some width, tempts him to go big downtown, lofted straight down the ground and didn't made a sweet sound, hit the outer half and send it high into the night sky but once again not clearing the ropes, pouched by Sinclair. Wickets continue to tumble and scoring has been onerous, taken at long-on 148/8
19.5 Chaotic finish, terrible botch-up, nothing really working at the death for Royals. Pacy short ball on middle and off, tries to whack a pull and only flails at thin air, hurtles down the track to sneak one but Hope pings a calm throw to Shepherd who disturbs the wickets at non-striker's end. Stun faces in BR's dug-out, coach is not happy 148/9

4.6 Probing line and length, tremendous riposte. Bit short and angling in at middle and leg, gets toe-end of the bat and Naveen settles under the skier, hangs onto it magnificently at long-on but he has done plenty of damage, gave the blistering start GAW were looking for playing a Rohit Sharma kind of role at the top. He didn't get to the pitch and lifted it high in the air, credit to Theekshana for keeping his composure 54/1

14.1 Sounds the death rattle with a pinpoint accurate yorker at middle and off, Hope jams the bat down and plays down the wrong line, got to applaud the youngster for his set of skills, exemplary execution of a yorker; Hope will feel uneasy after not hitting the winning shot, just two runs away from a massive win 147/2
