In our last game, we spoke about how to play the different phases of a game, and what was really important was that every individual took responsibility for their position. Tonight, Munro and Hales got a brilliant start, and even though we lost two wickets in the Powerplay, we felt like the pitch had something for the spinners. Our batters are well-known six-hitters against spin, and we felt like we got some nice momentum from Pollard in the middle overs. We just felt like we had to take that partnership as deep as possible and set up for the back end. We didn't finish the way we wanted, and I think we aimed for 190, but the way McKenny came out in the first two balls in front of the home crowd was special. It was nice to see Pollard's consistency. [Pollard] People will tell you that Kieron Pollard is not selfish. He's a man who prides himself on his performances and is one of the leading scorers in T20 cricket. He's really consistent both on and off the field and prides himself on playing the situation as much as possible, which I feel is one of the main reasons for his success. He's always sharing knowledge, which is really important, and he wants to win regardless of his age or how his body is feeling. Yesterday, he got hit on his shoulder and wasn't sure if he was going to play, but he strapped up, came out like a warrior, and performed just like Kieron Pollard. He is setting the tone for us. In his new role as a batting coach behind the scenes, his relationship with me is all about communication. It's difficult for me to communicate from behind the stumps, so when a fast bowler is bowling and he is close to them, they will have that conversation. It's really important that we share information; that's the key for us. Not just him, but also Sunil, Akeal, Andre Russell and all of the guys with a lot of experience on our team. For us, we just have to embrace this journey and use the experience we have in the room. To our fans back home, this is the most exciting time of the year for us, and we know you're waiting. David Wiese: "Our fielding probably wasn't our best performance. We let a couple of opportunities go, and good players will hurt you if you give them a second chance. The partnership between Kieron Pollard and Nicholas Pooran just took the game away from us, but we managed to fight back nicely. I was quite happy with how we ended up chasing 183, which we thought was about par. The schedule is tight, so there's no time to dwell on anything; we just have to get back and do it again tomorrow. The wind played a factor tonight, and we're not sure what will happen tomorrow, whether there will be wind or not. We are all professionals and will have to lift our performance because we can't afford to give away too many opportunities. Unfortunately, Joseph also picked up a little niggle, not too major, but with our tight schedule, there isn't much time for him to rest and recover. We will keep monitoring him, as he's obviously going to be important for us moving forward, but it's all about making sure he's at his best when he comes back. It's always a big thank you and a pleasure to play here. The fans pack the stands and the stands, the Johnson Charles stand; it's just such a great vibe. They always come and support us. Unfortunately, we couldn't get them the win tonight, but we're going to do our best in these next couple of games and hopefully entertain them and give them something to celebrate."

Player of the Match, Kieron Pollard: "I look forward to playing on this surface. When you're coming up against the opposition, and you're not only playing against them but also against their home supporters, it gives you that motivation. Everyone knows that from the time you just give me a little pinch, that's all I need to come out and try to perform. I'm just enjoying cricket, to be honest. I think at this time in my career, it's just about enjoyment and teaching the youngsters on the team. I also have a different role as the batting coach, quietly behind the scenes. So I think now is about passing on my experience and lending it to the guys who are actually going to take it. It's a mixture of both. I would have messed up a lot of games as a youngster, but I've taken all the experiences that I've garnered around the world and just try to continue to come and show. We can make cricket pretty difficult, or we can make it pretty simple. You just go, do your homework, and come and try to execute. Once your process is right, you're going to come out on top more often than not. From a success perspective, my advice to young batters in this region who aspire to be a Kieron Pollard in the T20 game is that a lot of work happens behind the scenes. There's no secret about it. I said a couple of years ago that we have a batting problem in the Caribbean. I think we are not disciplined enough as an outfit. Yes, the facilities and the pitches are not that great, but you still have to go out and make use of what's best in front of you at this particular time. So for me personally, it's just about having that discipline, working hard at your craft, and not only working when the coaches tell you to, but working behind the scenes to get better because the world is not going to wait for us. And as we can see, the world is going ahead. [Next five games] Again, it's playing in front of the home crowd, having the opportunity to see a sea of red on Independence Day. I'm not sure how long I'm going to play for, so I'm just going to take each and every game as it comes. But it's always good to play in front of friends and family. So I'm looking forward to everyone coming out and supporting."

Kapil Baldawa : "Not a single boundary off the bat from Delano. I'm not sure what they see in him to send him at 5 above Weise. And Weise didn't finish Shamzi's quota too. Captaincy to Weise in itself is a mystery" Delano struck one boundary, though.

DaWolf: "I like Wiese as a player, he's always been a whole hearted cricketer. But as captain I think he bowls and bats thinking he's better than he is - that mentally he's as good as a few years ago. He's batting too high and bowling too many overs without considering the pitch."

10:50 pm The Knight Riders have spoilt the homecoming for the Kings! In front of their home crowd, both Johnson Charles and Tim Seifert started with explosive intent, smashing boundaries all over the ground. The opening pair scored a brilliant 60 runs in the Powerplay, laying a strong foundation with a 74-run stand. However, the momentum shifted. Charles began to slow down in the middle overs, struggling to time the ball and relying too heavily on boundaries. As dot balls piled up, he eventually gave his wicket away, and the run rate dropped. The Kings then lost Roston Chase in the very next over, who was trapped in front while attempting a reverse sweep. The game seemed all but over when Tim David was controversially given out caught behind. Despite inconclusive evidence, the third umpire reversed the on-field decision, and a hush fell over the stadium. Ultimately, the target proved to be a bit too much for the Kings to chase. A number of factors cost the Kings the game. They may have underutilised their spinners during the bowling innings, and a few dropped catches and missed run-out opportunities were particularly costly. For the Knight Riders, Andre Russell and Tariq were the standout bowlers, each picking up two wickets to secure the win.
