A thorough team performance from Trinbago Knight Riders who now move to second spot on the points table and are joint with leaders Amazon Warriors on points. A couple of day's break before the action resumes. And as always we'll be back bringing you all the updates. Thanks for tuning in tonight. Till then this is Ashish Pant signing off on behalf of Binoy George. Ciao!
Kieron Pollard: Total team effort, the way we batted to get over 200. Much improved performance than last night in the field. Phenomenal team performance. We know the strengths of the team. [Pooran's innings] was entertaining for the crowd and the team. He didn't have another choice. He batted well tonight. Was the kind of innings we want to see on a consistent basis. We know how dangerous he can be at the back end. [On Salamkheil] He comes differently. He can bowl the googly. I have to commend the bowling unit. The guys can put their feet up. We are now getting to the business end of the tournament. A couple of niggles so we just have to now relax.
Rovman Powell: 15-20 runs too much. It's a big impact. They [TKR] have loved the support, and they [crowd] are always behind them. Congratulations to them, they played a big game. Mayers batted well, he was in good form. Qais bowled well.
Nicholas Pooran is the Player of the Match for his second CPL century: I am happy that I can perform again, Couple of low scores does not mean I am out of form. Today, I got a couple of shots away. I must say thanks Polly. The home crowd deserves that entertainment. [Mix-up with Pollard] It is my responsibility. We both bat together well. A bit of miscommunication, but that 's okay. I knew I had to make up. I had to go all the way. It worked for us. [What's changed] Consistency both on and off the field. I know my team-mates wanted me to perform. I wanted to perform in front of the home crowd. I had to put the ego away and reflect on my failures, and I came it with a different plan. I am just happy that I could contribute and get the two points for the team.
11.20pm That's a thumping win for Knight Riders, who now move to second spot on the points table. They are on nine points, joint with Guyana Amazon Warriors. A first win of the season for TKR at home this season. Pooran played a knock for the ages to get his side to 208 for 6. That was always going to be a stiff target and TKR came out with purpose with the ball. Akeal Hosein picked 2 for 21, but the picks of the bowlers was Waqar Salamkheil who broke TKR's back with 2 for 18 off his four overs. He bowled the tough overs and made sure the Royals never got anywhere close to the asking rate. Kyle Mayers returned back to form with a 45-ball 70 but he did not get any support. In the end, Royals could only muster 166 for 7 in their 20 overs.
