Scorer: Ranjith P | Commentator: Rvel Zahid

Johnson Charles, Player of the Match: We know that up top Kyle Mayers will come. He is a dangerous bowler swinging the bowler into the right hander so it was really about taking control of the powerplay and not losing any wickets. It doesn't matter if we don't get many runs. Obviously, I have to take off the mind knowing that Faf is gone but then still we have a quality player in Colin Munro so you know I still have to take the responsibility to bat deep and not give my good start so that's just how it is. I am just going to give my best and do what I have to do for the team.

Sikandar Raza, Saint Lucia Kings Captain: As I said previously, this group is very hungry. When we got days off, we're trying to utilize to rest and recover and when we come for training, we train to the best of our ability. We are hungry to play games so we know some of the games are far apart so when we do get an opportunity, everybody means business. I thought that the score was good but I didn't think it was that good. I thought the wicket got really good to bat on so all I asked my bowlers was that we know what their opening can do. We just hold our guns to the first six overs then after powerplay, we let our spinners bowl at them and let's see what happens from there but the way seamers bowled in the powerplay took those four wickets suddenly put them back. We certainly had plans (for their batting line up) but the reason I was smiling was because there were two thoughts going on...should we bowl someone else...I got a gut feeling to bowl with Primus, we had clear communication with him. When the communication is clear with the players and the role is clear, then I think the execution part becomes clear.

Rovman Powell, Barbados Royals Captain: That is a good sum-up, it's a tough day at the office, nothing really worked well for us today. We just think the wicket would get better and it did, but we just didn't bat well and bowled well. It's just one of those days at the office. Obviously, if you keep on losing games so badly, you have to sit down as a team, as a management, and come up with some plans, maybe some different team selection but let's see what happens in next few days.

Joseph to McCoy, OUT, Tentatively poked at it and seals the deal. Slaps this short ball to the fielder at point and Kings have routed Royals in this lopsided contest. It's a complete performance from Kings who have outsmarted their opponents in all departments of the game and have also climbed to the top of the table with this massive victory

Hajji49: "None of the " home" teams are having particularly good stands in CPL 2023, so far. The Royals haven't been consistent here in B'dos, St. Lucia saw the bulk of the matches there washed out, and the Patriots, well ... it doesn't seem to matter. Overall, though, not the best CPL so far for "home" fans. "

Joseph to McCoy, FOUR, Lifter outside off, that's a corker of a delivery, sways away from the line of the ball, gets the edge and Chase leaps off his feet, gets his hand to it but the ball was traveling fast, deflects away behind square on off for a boundary

Sikandar Raza to van der Merwe, OUT, Raza puts another nail in the coffin. Tossed up outside off, gets a touch greedy and is advancing to meet the pitch, larrups it over mid-off but finds the fielder in the deep who makes no mistake in clinging onto the catch
