Andries Gous: "[Final Total] We quickly realized that probably 160-165 was going to be a par score. We just tried to extend that partnership for as long as we could, so our batters could go and express themselves in the back end. We're happy with the total. [Batting form] I think it's just the belief that I can perform at this level and the trust in myself. It's been a long time coming. I've been batting well, and I'm thankful that it's coming off now. [Pitch] It's not a surface you can go after from ball one. You've got to take your time and really make sure that when the ball is there to hit, you hit it for six or four. I think the team with the least amount of dot balls will win tonight's game. [Bowling Unit] I hope so. We've got the bowling attack to do it, so let's hope they go and do it."

Kasinathan: "Falcons lost 7 wickets in 29 balls for 36 runs in slog overs. May hurt later"

9:45 pm A cautious start from the Falcons saw Jangoo break free against Akeal Hosein in the second over, hitting back-to-back boundaries. Netravalkar then drew first blood, dismissing Cornwall in the third over. Gous and Jangoo then rebuilt the innings with a massive 108-run partnership that lasted until the 17th over. But the Knight Riders' spinners squeezed the runs in the middle overs, keeping the scoring rate at just 6.5 runs per over after the Powerplay. The partnership of 108 runs came to an end when Jangoo tried to go downtown and found Pollard at long-off. Usman Tariq then delivered a double blow, picking up the wickets of both set batters, Jangoo and Gous, in the 17th over, leaving the Falcons in danger. Gous scored 61 runs off 45 balls. Shakib then introduced himself to the crease with a blistering cameo of 26 runs off 9 balls, but some brilliant death bowling from Netravalkar and Russell restricted the Falcons to a total under 170. Netravalkar finished with three wickets, while Russell and Tariq bagged two each.
