Amir Jangoo: "It's been a lot of fun to be out here. First, praise to Allah, Alhamdulillah for that. It was good fun, and I'm happy to be out here after two years. To be honest, I just waited for my chance. It's been a long time, and I've been developing my skills as a batsman. I had some things to work on in the past couple of years, and it paid off today. To be honest, after just watching the first two overs, I knew Jewel was batting amazingly. He sets the boundaries for fun, so I knew I could give myself a few balls. As soon as I assessed the conditions, I realized it was a pretty good wicket, and I just had to play my natural game. It paid off today. [Partnership with Shakib] It was an absolute class. He made my job a lot easier the way he just came out and struck the ball. He ran past me in runs quite quickly. For me, it was just about playing my role to take the innings as deep as possible. [Good toss to lose?] I don't think much is going to change; it's a pretty good batting surface, as we've seen throughout the tournament. We've got a good score of 200, so hopefully, our bowlers can defend it well."

SaraTh: "this is some hitting from F.Allen, he is not just looking to slog, which is evident from his straight drive vs A.Joseph"

Vivek: "You had 2 overs of Potgieter who is your best bowler today.. why will u bowl Joseph at 18th ??" I was expecting more from Potgieter today, to be honst.

12:40 pm The Falcons got off to a brilliant start, recording their highest opening partnership of the season after a tweak to the batting order. They took full advantage of a lovely batting pitch early on. Shamsi was introduced right after the Powerplay and made an immediate impact, getting the wicket of the set batter Jewel Andrew and then dismissing the dangerous Karima Gore for a golden duck. But the momentum quickly swung back. Shakib Al Hasan switched on, striking back-to-back sixes before the strategic timeout, and then smashing 24 runs off Wiese's over to put all the pressure back on the Kings. Shakib reached his 3rd CPL fifty in just 20 deliveries and departed after a blistering 61 runs off 26 balls. The partnership between Shakib and Jangoo, a massive 91 runs off 49 deliveries, did all the damage. Jangoo got his maiden CPL fifty and departed after a solid 56 off 43 balls. In the death overs, Fabian Allen provided the perfect finish with a quickfire cameo of 38 runs off 17 balls, which was the icing on the cake. The St Lucia Kings' bowling woes continued, especially at the death, as they leaked runs with wayward deliveries and too many extras. Shamsi was once again their best bowler, picking up three wickets, while Potgieter was economical and bagged the other wicket.
