Kieron Pollard: "The best part is in the wicket in the Caribbean, so every time I come here, I've played for this franchise as well. My only T20 100 has been here again, this franchise, and I just love batting here. My mantra is, once it's in the arc, then, no matter the start or the back end of the inning, to try to hit it for six. When you come with that sort of intent, there's a dimension in the ground. There's a breeze. I just tried to bat on one end and tried to rotate the strike with the other batter on the other end. [Fans] Fantastic. People come from around the Caribbean, trying to be able to support us. And, of course, the West Indies coach is just here as well. So I'm just trying to impress, to see what can happen, to see if he remembers my phone number at some point. No, no, I'm just joking [laughter]. It's just a matter of enjoying cricket at this point in time. [Gaston] Well bowled by the youngster. He bowled the back of the hand slow ball. He backed it up with a no-ball, but he nailed a yorker. So that's good for the future. He held his nerve in the back end. Well done to him. It's a decent total, nine runs an over. But as I said, in each of these batting tracks for us, 200 plus would have been a better total. So I think we are a bit short, so we have to go out and try to bowl well. Hopefully, we can bowl well and limit them to under 183, but I think it's a good batting track. So I think it's gonna be a good game of cricket. [Bowlers] Whatever they do, try to get them on under the 183. They can't go looking and searching for wickets on this track; you've got to play in our hands. So we got to be smart."

DaWolf: "47/0 from the first 4. 53/3 from the next 10. 83/4 from the last 7. Two overs unbowled from left arm spinners feels like poor captaincy. Overall target feels around par but it could have been a lot less."

8:50 pm The Knight Riders began with clear intent, and after a few consecutive fielding errors in the third over, starting with a dropped catch by Tim David that gave Munro a life. Munro proceeded to smash four boundaries in that same over. That early drop on 7 runs proved to be a costly one. Wiese drew first blood for the Kings by dismissing Hales with a slower delivery, which caused the Knight Riders to slow down their scoring rate for a bit. Shamsi then got the much-needed wicket of Munro, who had scored 43 off 30 balls, right after the strategic timeout. But the night belonged to Kieron Pollard. At his favorite ground and against his favorite opponent, he was in the mood from the very first ball. He brought up his 14th CPL fifty and looked in fine touch, hitting the ball all over the field, especially straight and over mid-wicket. Pollard finished with a blistering 65 runs off just 29 balls, an innings that included four 4s and six 6s. It was a disastrous day for the Kings' fielders, with three dropped catches, a few missed runout opportunities, and sloppy ground fielding. Despite being expensive, Gaston managed to pick up two wickets, while the economical trio of Chase, Thomas, and Shamsi each took one.
