Johnson Charles: "It was a decent innings, to be honest, though I would have loved to go a bit more, a bit deeper into the innings, but I thought it was a great start, the first game of the season. We're just looking to get better. It's a very good pitch. We were going to look for a bit more. But it's a pitch where the bowlers have to nail their skills, the yorkers, because the ball is coming on nicely. So it's a very good pitch. Our bowlers have seen what our batters did. So we just have to come and then adjust. Once our bowlers come and nail the yorkers and have a good start in the power play. The power play is very important. If we could keep them to a low score in the power play, that would put us in a very good position. It's a good pitch, but I have a lot of confidence in my bowlers."
Hajji49: "Is Darren Sammy really still coach of the Kings? He is the coach for all 3 formats of WI cricket! Surely with that type of workload " Yeah, he is the head coach of the Kings.
8:45 pm The St Lucia Kings got off to a decent start until Mayers struck with back-to-back wickets in the third over. However, Johnson Charles immediately launched a counterattack, smashing 18 runs in the very next over. Charles dominated the rest of the Powerplay, hitting boundaries for fun and bringing up his 23rd CPL fifty in just 26 balls. He then threw his wicket away with a bizarre switch hit against a wide ball from Salamkheil, getting caught at long off after a brilliant knock of 52 runs. After his dismissal, Roston Chase and Tim David built a crucial partnership. Chase was the aggressive one at first, scoring 61 off 38 deliveries before a beautiful yorker from Farooqi bowled him out. David started slowly but found his rhythm, blasting three sixes in a single over off Holder to finish with a quick-fire 46 runs off 23 balls. At one point, the Kings looked set to score well over 200, but the Afghan duo of Farooqi and Salamkheil bowled some brilliant, economical overs to restrict the total. The pair was phenomenal, picking up key wickets and slowing down the run rate. Brilliant death bowling from the Patriots. In the end, Mayers, Farooqi, and Salamkheil all finished with two wickets each.

DaWolf: "@Adesh Mahabir - first match for Tim David in the CPL after the T20I's against SA. Getting used to conditions I think. Kings need him to tee off now especially with Chase gone, 220 should be the target."
