The target for Barbados Royals will be 60 and the powerplay will be of two overs

Hold your horses! It looks like the tower has been given a new lease of life and is slowly shining bright like a diamond. The efforts of the chief electrician have seemingly reaped rewards

"The staff at the ground are working on fixing the broken light tower. We can start a 5 over game at 11:01. If it goes past that time TKR advance to Qualifier 2 as they finished higher in the league stage." reads a tweet from the official CPL account

Aaron: "Good things come to those who wait... 123 minutes after the two towers went out, the shootout will be on!"

davo: "I'm at the stadium..all lights are on!!!! game will resume at 23:01hrs"

Andrew: "This will certainly not be a nice birthday gift from Barbados Prime Minister Mia Motley "

Shiv Jaikarran : "2007 ODI World Cup finals vibes all over again!! "

Gareth: "This happened in a BBL match and was literally a couple of balls before the Thunder reached six overs and would have been ahead on the DLS. Big conspiracy that someone in the Brisbane Heat setup pulled out the plug at the Gabba."

10:45pm: We are very close to what would be a sad end to a crucial affair and Barbados Royals will be hard done by this unforeseen circumstance. It's bizarre and unheard of in cricket; a rare instance where a floodlight issue denies a team a proper chance. This will take a toll on the tournament's reputation and will not be an easy pill to swallow for all the stakeholders involved. We're under 10 minutes away from the cut-off time and it looks like Trinbago Knight Riders are on their way to getting another chance to make it to the final

9:57pm: Trinbago Knight Riders will go through if the light towers are not fixed because of their better standing on the points table. 10:52pm is the cut-off time for a five-over contest

9:53pm: Two light towers went out and one of them is back on so it looks like we are not far away from getting everything ready for a restart. It's been an hour since the game stopped, so we'll start to lose overs and DLS will come into play--pretty much similar to what happens during rain interruptions

9:30pm The umpires, groundstaff and both teams' captains are having a chat right now. The situation is quite frustrating for players, fans and everyone involved. It's the all-important eliminator and both teams are keen to get on with the action

It looks like the players want to wait, no matter how long it takes to fix the lights and don't want to resume with insufficient light

Johnathan Bovel: "The Royals have all the help they need here with this break. This score at the moment isn't that difficult. They need someone to bat through the innings and no rash shots and this run chase should end in a canter."

Afeef: "It would be bizarre if DLS comes into play for a match that hasn't been delayed by rain"

Ahmad: "I think they resume the match when the sun rises."

You might want to catch up on all the latest news as we wait for the resumption. Babar Azam has quit as Pakistan captain for the second time this year

Tim Southee has stepped down as New Zealand Test captain and Tom Latham will lead the team in India

Some light towers are still not working as we continue to wait

Naveen-ul-Haq to Pooran, no run, Almost demolishes him with a searing yorker on leg, he falls while trying to work it away and there's a prolonged appeal. Review taken. The front foot is okay; some part is behind. Pooran was stretching forward and losing balance, nothing on the utra-edge, pitching outside the line of leg-stump and we're not going furhter

4
Theekshana to Pooran, FOUR, Bit short and spinning in at leg, down on one knee and half-pulls it to deep fine fence and that finally breaks the shackles. TKR need more of these, multiple boundaries to put a decent total
