Pollard was clearly not happy with certain aspects of the game. Memorable quote there from him: "if I speak, I will get into trouble", followed by Green's "chaos, absolute chaos" to sum up the proceedings. Thanks for your company for this topsy-turvy game. See you tomorrow for more action.
Losing captain Pollard: "I think they played well. (10th over of the chase) If I speak, I will get into trouble. We'll go, look back and practice and come back."
Winning captain Green: "Really proud of our effort. Really proud of how we bowled. Except my drop of the last ball, we fielded really well. The way Hassan and Greaves batted, killed the game. We go to Guyana to show what we can do. The word is 'heart, character', it's easy to roll over and there was talk we'd roll over and bow down to these guys, but we showed they are beatable. They are dangerous with good players but they are beatable. (10th over) Chaos, absolute chaos. I don't know what went on. And then we had a Ben Stokes incident as well. Really happy with the win, think we outplayed them in all departments."
Greaves is the Player of the Match: "To win at Queen's Park Oval is a special thing. We haven't had a great season but to beat TKR twice is good. Just happy with how things panned out. To get the win against Trinidad in Trinidad... their fortress... feels good. We have to take one game at a time. You never know..."
10.41pm Falcons do the double over TKR this season and keep their slim playoff chances alive. A lot happened tonight, some arguments, some heated moments, a lot of confusion at times, but eventually, good to see the two teams walk out in high spirits.
TKR would be disappointed, but their first-innings score never seemed enough. It was only Pollard's 37-ball 47 that had given them some hope, but with dew a factor here, the Falcons were always going to be favourites even if the required run rate briefly went up to an uncomfortable level. In the chase, Greaves held one end up to anchor the second innings. He was eventually retired out in the death overs to allow a better hitter to come out. But he did his bit with his 46, and Hassan's cameo of 36 was useful too. Imad Wasim ended up being the evening's protagonist with his unbeaten 36 and his solid bowling spell. Don't forget his "non-dismissal" and the "deflection" that went for four!
Pollard sarcastically claps at Imad Wasim after that incident
Interesting.... Greaves gets a pat on his back on the way out but this is clearly a strategic call to get a better hitter out there
