Royals are on top, but can Warriors stage a comeback in the chase? Find out with Sreshth.
Rakheem Cornwall: For the past few games, I couldn't get to a start. So I wanted to give the team something. The team has played well, despite not scoring well in the past games. I feel we need to be patient, land it in the right areas, and should be successful. Bowling wicket to wicket is key.
Jerry : "Sinclair has bowled 2 overs for 8 runs in all the carnage. This is poor captaincy. " He was used in and around the powerplay. Think that was his role. Having a left hander helped too.
Abir: "Very poor captaincy from Hatty. So good bowling from Shakib, but he was unused for 1 over. Can't believe it." Think Warriors tried to hold back their spinners but after Tahir and Shakib went big, the quicks had to come in.
Stat from Sampath: 19 sixes by Barbados Royals today, the second most sixes hit by a team in a CPL innings, behind the 21 sixes by Jamaica Tallawahs in 2019.
11:45am: Joint-highest total this season. Royals have the upper hand, thanks mainly to Rakheem Cornwall, who was hit on the body often but once he got set, he went after all comers and creamed the leg-side boundaries. Mayers helped provide a good start. Azam, who joined him later, assisted him. Hetmyer went with eight bowlers. There were a lot of overs which were economical but the big ones, with 20+ runs, were too many. Their fielding was off the mark too. The pitch looks good, the new ball helped the bowlers. Spin started to look effective but batters got on top.
