The St Lucia Kings were docked 0.05 from their Net Run Rate after their previous game because of a slow over-rate. Well, this is some way to regain lost ground. The man they have to thank for this: Roston Chase.
He batted like a dream to make 85 on a sluggish surface that dragged them to 149. Then with the ball, their spinners did the rest, along with Obed McCoy, who derailed the chase upfront.
Any hope of the Warriors coming close hinged on Nicholas Pooran and Shimron Hetmyer. While Hetmyer struggled, Pooran unleashed a few big hits before perishing to effectively close out the game.
Nicholas Pooran: Happy we restricted them to 149, but not happy with that bowling effort. We kept giving them free hits, it's unacceptable. Credit to the Kings bowlers, bowled well in the Powerplay and outside too. Well done to them. We've been inconsistent in terms of winning games.
Roston Chase is Player of the Match. "Was just seeing the ball, hitting the ball and it paid off in the end. I will say the cover drive was my favourite shot. I'm known for that." Clearly he's a man of few words.
