They started poorly in the Powerplay, with a run-rate of only six after six overs, but after that, they cruised to victory, thanks to Phillips at the top and Asif right at the end. Happy faces for the Jamaica team, who finished last last year.
Daren Sammy, losing captain: "The difference was the way both teams bowled in the back end. The way Chase played his role, was a good sign for us going forward. But credit must go to Russell, the way he bowled at the end. We wanted 170 ish. I came in at No 7 because I wanted Nabi to face Mujeeb. In another game, I'll come up the order. Today I thought we set it up good, but their last four overs were good. Yes, we do have the bowling strength to win matches consistently. Another game tomorrow, put this match to rest, and come strong tomorrow."
Rovman Powell, winning captain: "Came here to take two points, and happy with the win. The way the guys bowled in the last ten, that set the game up for us. We wanted to win a bit more comfortably, but its okay. The pitch, it was important to get a start. Things get easy after that. Captaincy has been challenging, we didn't get enough training, but its a job I'm excited for."
Man of the Match, Asif, getting some help from Lamichhane: "Very happy to play here. Conditions are not too different in Pakistan, we get similar weather. I have a bit of low confidence in English speaking, but I understand it fine."

Mossy: "Interesting tactics from SLZ. Sammy doesn't bowl anymore and is basically a specialist captain. Chase hasn't been given a bowl. Cornwall just 1 over, and successful. Deyal is often talked about as a mystery spinner but I think he's more of a batting allrounder. It shows that he's bowled 4 overs in 4 T20s before this one. Lots of unused bowling options. You've got Melius or Glen on the bench that can add to the batting. Sammy at 7 is too high."
