It was a superbly-paced innings, and for so long it was thought that this surface would assist the slower bowlers and be hard to score on. But he took that out of the equation with some clean, powerful striking. This is the highest score ever at Providence. Needs some chasing from the Patriots. Be back shortly.

"It was good to have to work hard and accelerate towards the end," says the man of the moment. "We could have got a few more. It's unreal: seeing the ball well and trying to keep it simple. If you don't try, you don't get it. I didn't realise it was the highest score in providence. Great to have been able to play a part in it, hopefully we can defend it."
