5:33pm A tame end to an innings that began tamely in the first place. Dwayne Smith and Martin Guptill are known for more explosive things than they put up today as an opening stand. Couldn't size up the pitch, didn't run too well, and their stand didn't even tick along at run-a-ball. It took a promotion, that of Holder, for the impetus in this innings. And it worked, as far as the Tridents captain was concerned. Three massive sixes from him on a slow pitch as he got his first CPL fifty. But with Smith batting at No. 6 and only 147 on the board, they'll feel like their tinkering of the batting order was not a success. Devcich, Cutting and Cottrell were the stars with the ball, going for 64 off their 12 overs and taking four wickets.
