Shai Hope and Steven Smith, on CPL debut, laid the platform with a century stand after two quick wickets had fallen, and Hope teed off from there for an imperious 88. Pooran gave the innings a blazing finish. Guyana never seemed to be in the chase, except during that partnership between Malik, who passed 8000 T20 career runs, and Rutherford. Mounting required rate meant they lost wickets in a cluster towards the end, including three in a single over from Reifer, who picked up five wickets.

Raymon Reifer is Man of the Match. "I got two wickets in my first over, but it was a good batting wicket," he says. "Hopefully, I can put in more match-winning performances going forward."
