Jay wonders: "Just imagine how the Patriots would have done if Rashid Khan was playing for the Guyana Amazon Warriors this CPL"

Jay, here's PDP's response to your question. "Well, Rashid went wicketless in two matches vs the Patriots last year! Gayle smashed Rashid earlier this year in IPL. He's one of the few batsman Rashid has not been able to get on top of. safe to say Gayle is Rashid's kryptonite."

Mazher Arshad digs out nuggets like not many. "Chris Gayle tonight dismissed by a leg-spinner for the first time in his CPL career. Imran Tahir, playing his first ever T20 in the West Indies, got the better of him."

7.50pm I've seen Gayle waltz his way to centuries and propel his team to 200 or beyond. The 86 he's made could be more valuable in the context of the game, considering the pitch has been a little sticky. He was reprieved early on courtesy an lbw appeal, but he took a while to settle in. How refreshing was it to see him pick singles and look to pinch runs at every available opportunity? Is this a new gear in his batting that he seems to have invented? I saw him do that during the ODIs against Bangladesh too. Once set, he was his usual self. This now means Guyana Amazon Warriors, the home side, have to make much more than the average CPL score of 125 to win this. It should be an exciting chase, join me in 10 minutes.

Peter Della Penna adds: "Gayle steered the innings along with a 41-ball half-century, scored 36 off the next 24 balls and looked like he was heading for triple figures before 19-year-old Sherfane Rutherford pulled off a stunner sprinting in and diving from the cover boundary. Just to show it was no fluke, he produced a carbon copy diving effort and catch again 5 balls later to snare Anton Devcich. Outside of Gayle's post-fifty acceleration, everyone else grafted for runs. This Patriots total would be good enough for the 2nd highest first innings total at Providence last season and it may prove to be a tricky chase for Guyana."
