Peter Della Penna with his end-overs musing: "Biggest target St Lucia has ever chased is 163, though that came against TKR at Queen's Park Oval also on opening night in 2016. But St Lucia had an entirely different (and successful) look that whole season in which they went to the playoffs. Shane Watson, Johnson Charles and David Miller were the heroes that night. Even Michael Hussey played a role on the night. it's seems like a long time (and a different name) ago. They'll need another special helping to get over the line tonight."
"Kesrick Williams was one of the few bright spots for St Lucia in the innings, but his final over caught up to the rest of the horror start of his teammates in the field. When David Warner is dropping catches on the boundary, you know it's not your night. Four drops in all during the innings. St Lucia will not only need to pull of their highest successful chase to win this match, but they'll need to overhaul the highest total ever made on this ground in the CPL. Odds of the Stars notching their first win since 2016 looking very long at the halfway point."

Peter Della Penna with his analysis: "Big slow-down by Munro. 33-ball 50, but just 18 off his final 15 balls faced. Stars have done okay to keep the scoring rate in check considering the start Munro gave them, especially considering the chasing team (TKR) won all 5 matches at Queen's Park Oval last year, though the biggest target they needed to overhaul was just 159. St Lucia facing a sizable hurdle to get their first win as the Stars."
In between overs early in the innings, I was just commending the over-rates to my colleague Peter Della Penna. He said he'll hold off till the end of the innings, perhaps knowing a thing or two about how that's not going to last. As it turns out, he's won the battle. We should've finished the innings by now.
