8.13pm Tridents needed to win by at least 220 runs, so there's the confirmation that they won't be making the knockouts. It's an under-par score for sure and all credit to Patriots' bowlers for making use of the conditions on offer. They got the ball to nip around and used intelligent variations in pace, led by Carlos Brathwaite, who produced his career-best effort. The top four of Tridents got off to starts but could not convert, while the rest could not manage even that.

"Just looking to do the basics. I was bowling with good rhythm,"says Carlos Brathwaite. "I was just working on my length and I've come here and taken four wickets. This should be a total we should chase. There's not much time to get back on track if you lose momentum, so we want to win this game and push to the finals. I just want to pick wickets; as long as the wickets come, the celebrations will take care of themselves."
