Meanwhile, here's some innings break reading for you: with only a month to go for the Olympics, this is how the preparation of India's top 10 medal hopes are going.

Liam Livingstone: Just to try and keep things simple. Use the pitch, bowl into the wicket. He brought me on to get wickets but it came out alright. There's low bounce, but that's always the case here. Hope we can adjust to that. We've got a lot of firepower, fingers crossed we'll get through.

As for this innings, Rohit was aggressive had to adjust and manipulate his range of shots because the ball was holding up and the bounce was low at times. He stitched a good stand with SKY after Topley and Curran got the big wickets of Kohli and Pant. There was a rain-break during their stand. Upon return, they had to be selective again. Got a big over or two but Livingstone and Rashid were hard to put away. Rohit and SKY's combined 104 off 75 balls with cameos from the allrounders have taken India to 171. Archer and Jordan were taken down but were able to come back, with wickets too, and helped restrict. Is that enough?

2:34pm: Not the ideal innings not least due to the delayed start and the rain breaks but India kept falling forward and have put on 171. It's very close to the 168 at Adelaide a couple years ago but this pitch ain't straightforward. Balls are keeping low and cutters will aid bowlers. Bumrah and Kuldeep will be a handful but if England do well in the powerplay, they can bite into the target.

1
Jordan to Arshdeep Singh, 1 run, Jordan wasn't sure if he'd throw it hard, underarm. Does the latter in the end at the non-striker's, no direct hit and India get one.
19.5
W
Jordan to Patel, OUT, Swatted away... straight to long-on. Jordan hitting a length and bowling at the body. Not much space for Axar to work with. Got cramped but heaved across on the rise

19.4
6
Jordan to Patel, SIX, Axar uses his long levers, bottom lever in fact, and swipes it over long-on. Didn't look like he'd get that but that sailed. Was a slower one into the pitch angling away outside off, it wasn't so much a powerful swing as a controlled one with adjustment
19.3
2
Jordan to Patel, 2 runs, Slow, wide and length again. No bounce at all, Axar reaches out and cuts it from well in front of the body to deep cover's right. Liam gets to it, the second is taken just after the throw leaves hand, but it's wide for Buttler and Axar makes it back
19.2
1
Jordan to Jadeja, 1 run, Zips off the pitch and Jadeja doesn't have time to swing his bat. Ends up patting it to long-off. Was a fullish ball around fourth, Jadeja looked to be out of the crease
19.1
2
Jordan to Jadeja, 2 runs, Jadeja stays leg side of the slower length ball and slaps it gently. Places it to the left of deep cover, who has to run in diagonally, which allows time for the second

Jordan to finish things. Deep extra cover and long-off are the only two deep fielders off-side

Archer to Patel, no run, Axar bamboozled by the length ball following him before leaving him. He was dancing down and was halfway into the straight drive while losing all shape and his head bobbing back to sight the ball that went to the keeper. Archer does manage to close out the over well

1
Archer to Jadeja, 1 run, Full at 140ks, angling in towards the stumps, punched firmly and straight o long-on

Can Archer close out the over well? Around the wicket

Skipper goes to bowler. Jadeja gets a drink arvind: "Cometh the hour, cometh the man! GO JADDU! "

Archer to Jadeja, FOUR, Slower one is swept to the right of short fine leg. Great shot, spinner's length ball on fourth. Jadeja got on one knee and hit it into the ground from the top of the bounce
18.3
2
Archer to Jadeja, 2 runs, Jadeja shapes to paddle but that's a swindle. He comes back into position, guides it through point
18.2
4
Archer to Jadeja, FOUR, Cut well by Jadeja, looked like a slower one. Yep, it was on a length and just outside off. Jadeja's back leg buckled and he crouched a bit to get on top of the bounce and used his wrists well to find the gap to backward point's left

Archer to Patel, 1 run, Bunts it off a length to deep point

Archer to close out his spell. Two lefties out

Hat-trick ball

Jordan to Dube, OUT, And nicked off first ball, Jordan on a hat-trick. The first wicket was as T20 as they come, this was Test-y. Fullish length ball on fourth stump and Dube's feet were glued. He felt for it with the bat, opened the face late, but could only guide it to the keeper

W
Jordan to Pandya, OUT, Third time's the charm for Jordan, Hardik holes out to long-off. Shot wasn't dissimilar to the six last ball but this was a cutter on a length, unlike the full ball last one. Hardik wound up and clattered with just as much bat speed. Found Curran to perfection. Smiles as he looks at Jordan wile walking back

Jordan to Pandya, SIX, Cutter has been pancaked again. Pandya clearing the front leg and slaps it with all might
17.2
6
Jordan to Pandya, SIX, Flat bullet over wide long-on, who was placed well actually but Hardik's slowish back-lift and baseball-y swipe across the line took it over the man, slightly to the right, but arguably without danger

2
Jordan to Pandya, 2 runs, Into the pitch, 118ks, Hardik makes room and bunt-cuts it through cover
