8.47pm What a fascinating innings that was. Glued together by a brilliant 74 from 60 balls from Nissanka, who was one ball away from seeing out the 20 overs. But Meiyappan's hat-trick derailed Sri Lanka's ambitions of a 180-plus total, with fine support from his team-mates, not least in the field with a succession of cool and occasionally spectacular catches. Sri Lanka will have 152 to defend.

Meiyappan: "It's a great feeling and it really hasn't sunk in yet. I was trying to take the ball away from the leftie, I was lucky that he sliced it to deep cover. Asalanka, it was easy for me to bowl a wrong'un, and he nicked it, but Shanaka, that was a special ball, to get it through bat and pad. That was the biggest one. There wasn't so much purchase off the wicket, but it was important to keep it wicket to wicket, if they miss I hit."

"It would be the sweetest thing possible if the batters get us over the line, that would be the icing on the cake."

So, stay tuned. Madushka will be here for the chase shortly.

JOYDEEPSINGHGIL: "Nissanka , Mendis , Dhananjaya , make 125 runs within 94 balls into 15.4 overs and all other Sri Lanka batters just 17 within 26 balls in 4.2 balls "

Zahoor Khan to Chameera, 1 run, punched out of the full length, into the covers, just the single. That's a mighty final over from Zahoor, to give UAE a vital late lift

W
Zahoor Khan to Nissanka, OUT, stunning take at mid-off! That's one for the cameras as Nissanka launches through another inside-out slam on the up through the off side. Basil dived with both hands, like a goalkeeper reading the penalty in a shoot-out, and snaffled the fast flat chance horizontal to the ground!

Zahoor Khan to Karunaratne, OUT, holed out to deep cover! This is a magnificent final over, pace off once more, outside off, Karunaratne was deep in his crease, hoping to spring through his drill down the ground, but the ball skewed off an outside edge, and the new man will be on strike, under the new regulations

C Karunaratne c Kashif Daud b Zahoor Khan 8 (22m 11b 1x4 0x6) SR: 72.72

Long off and on drop back, backward square comes into the ring

sudesh: "This is satisfactory score for Srilanka . But do not expect Srilanka winning with huge margin here. In these two games they have gone through actual reality check."

A costly over, and Sri Lanka may feel they've done the needful now. 160-plus could be tough on this slow outfield
