7.40 pm Rajesh tells me that Scotland need to finish at 121 to end with a higher NRR than Oman. What a fun 20 overs we have in prospect. Miller will pick it up in a short while. See ya.

Safyaan Sharif speaks: "The bowlers bowled pretty tight in the powerplay and in the end. Compared to the first game, it's a much slower wicket. You just had to use all the variations at your disposal. It's a batter's game. I just enjoy trying to contribute as much as I can. I think it might be a little tricky, but I am backing my batters. 120 in a T20 chase is something I will take."

7.37 pm Oman have fought and scrapped their way to 122, but you get the feeling this is about 20 short of what they would have considered a minimum after winning the toss. But in T20 cricket, anything above a run-a-ball is something you can fight with.

Davey to Fayyaz Butt, OUT, full, outside off, and struck straight at cover-point! The shot was there for the taking, but he fails to keep it down, and it's a sharp catch, as Oman are bowled out off the last ball of this innings

Fayyaz Butt c Greaves b Davey 7 (13m 6b 1x4 0x6) SR: 116.66

Davey to Fayyaz Butt, FOUR, another near-catch, but this has gone for four! Back of the hand slower ball, and short into the deck. He flogs it across the line, and Leask dives in from deep midwicket, but just sneaks under him
19.4
W
Davey to Bilal Khan, 1 run, OUT, yorker, driven back firmly. MacLeod gets across from long-off, and he is run out as he looks for the second, that never was! Bilal ran immediately after touching down, and then had to cut his idea short, but by then it was too late. A good bit of fielding, as MacLeod sent it in immediately

Bilal Khan run out 1 (2m 1b 0x4 0x6) SR: 100.00

W
Davey to Zeeshan Maqsood, OUT, bashed over extra cover, but Scotland have pulled off another good catch rather well! Davey goes length, and wide of off, and Maqsood gets a good bit of wood on this. It looks like it's headed for six, but MacLeod runs across from wide long-off, and then plucks it off the air just inside the ropes. Perfectly timed jump and then cushions his landing easily too. That's a big wicket for this final over!

Davey to Zeeshan Maqsood, no run, Maqsood looks to go for the reverse lap, but that's a good length ball just angling across him. Fails to make contact with this

Davey to Fayyaz Butt, 1 run, fuller length, just outside off, and he is able to squirt it away towards deep midwicket

Sharif to Fayyaz Butt, 1 run, 'catch it' is the call...and just short of short fine leg! Yorker outside off, and Butt was looking for the dink over the man at short fine. Got the top edge, but not with any pace

1
Sharif to Zeeshan Maqsood, 1 run, looks for the yorker, and ends up bowling a low full toss. Whipped away. Goes on the bounce to MacLeod at deep midwicket
18.3

Sharif to Zeeshan Maqsood, SIX, length, and he has just carted this over deep square leg. Deep into the stands! This man has some strong forearms, because he has absolutely muscled this one out of sight!

Graham: "Do you think Oman have tried to be too aggressive today on this pitch?" --- Yes. Probably set out wanting to post 170-odd, when they should have started off with 140 or so

Sharif to Fayyaz Butt, 1 run, fullish, driven towards long-off

Sharif to Zeeshan Maqsood, 1 run, slow, into the pitch, and he looks to swing across the line. Bunted on the bounce towards midwicket

Coetzer has hurt his finger, the broadcasters say.

The World Cup dreams for Oman disappearing here. Unless they can somehow stitch together a couple of massive overs. Maqsood probably needs to face most of the next 12

Davey to Fayyaz Butt, no run, slower ball, outside off, goes away off the seam. Wild heave, and a miss

Sami H: "With respect, Mr. Rajesh is wrong. If Oman score up to 123 and win by exactly one run, Scotland's net run rate will be higher. The reason is that Oman have faced fewer overs having chased a target and their net run rate will be more affected by a close result here." --- Yes, a few of you had already pointed that out. Cricket, huh?

Davey to Suraj Kumar, OUT, short, and he takes on the short ball. Off the edge, and Wheal at fine leg goes low to his left to pick this up. Great execution from Davey. A clever short ball which cramps him for room and just hones in on his helmet badge. Tough to get enough control when you take that on.

Suraj Kumar c Wheal b Davey 4 (10m 7b 0x4 0x6) SR: 57.14

Davey to Suraj Kumar, no run, full, around off, and he drives this firmly, but straight to point. There was no protection behind him, which will annoy Suraj. Could have picked up runs if he had just placed it past the man there

Davey to Zeeshan Maqsood, 1 run, full, around off, and he slaps this away towards deep point

Davey to Suraj Kumar, 1 run, slow, in to the pitch, and he comes jumping out to thrash this. Ends up dragging it towards square leg
