9.50 pm From 53 for 6, there was some chat about Scotland and their Associate brethren not belonging in the World Cup. What a difference two hours makes. Chris Greaves with the night of his life on a cricket field. Top-scoring in the first innings forging a half-century stand with Mark Watt for the seventh wicket to rally Scotland back into the match with the bat before taking the monster scalps of Shakib and Mushfiqur in the chase. Wheal seals the deal in the 19th over with two wickets. What a night for the Saltires!
Kyle Coetzer, the winning captain: "To get into that position, we have to give credit to the Bangladesh bowlers, they showed high-class skills and blew us away, to be honest. We've got a huge belief in our squad, and any player coming in has the ability to hit the ball over the ropes, as Chris Greaves and Josh Davey at the end showed. It just shows we can win a game from anywhere. I said at the halfway point that we can show we can win a game from that position. Everyone just put their hand up and contributed when it was required. It's a huge confidence-builder. We believe even more now that we can keep on pushing and challenging teams."
Mahmudullah, the Bangladesh captain: "The wicket was quite good, 140 was gettable. We were missing that one big over in the middle. Bowlers did their job really well but the batting unit wasn't good enough. Credit goes to their batters (for coming back from 53 for 6), they had a good finish. We still need to be positive and figure out where we made mistakes, and not try to repeat them."
Player of the Match Chris Greaves: "We were in a tough situation obviously and it doesn't always go that way. It was just to rebuild the innings at that stage and see where we could go from there. I was happy to be that person. With the score on the board, you've got something to bowl at. I think once we got that total on the board with our bowling lineup, we'll back it. It was a great great game. It was my day I think today. It will be many other days that any one of us in that squad will be a part of. I'm just glad I could contribute in the way I did. Incredible. There's so many words. Just really enjoying it and taking one day at a time. Hopefully many more days like this to come."
Five days after his 31st birthday and in just his second career T20I, Chris Greaves etches his name in Scottish cricket history with a sterling all-round performance. How's that for a cracking start to the T20 World Cup! Well worth the wait. They'll be partying long into the night from Edinburgh to Dundee and all the way up the east coast to Aberdeen! That's it for today's coverage, I'm Peter Della Penna. Come back tomorrow when Group A kicks off from the UAE as Ireland takes on the Netherlands and Namibia plays Sri Lanka. Good night!
Long delay here as Coetzer comes to talk to Sharif, who vigorously rubs the ball with a towel to make sure it's very dry to grip.
Calcu: "Where's the guy who said that associates shouldn't play in the world cup when Scotland were 50/6? Let this be a message to all those who have such exclusionary beliefs. Hoping for more upsets!!"
Jv: "It's always fascinating to watch underdogs beat the favourites. A great result for Scotland cricket but an eye opener for Bangladesh cricket."
24 needed off the last over. Can the tail do it or will Scotland close out a historic upset of Bangladesh? Sharif to bowl the last six.

100 up for Bangladesh, but the heavily Bangladeshi crowd doesn't bother to acknowledge it. They know they are behind with 19 balls to go.
Fingernail chewing time in both dugouts. The nerves continue to mount.
