8:23pm A slightly anti-climactic end to the innings, especially once Ghosh was dismissed in the penultimate over. Prior to that, Ghosh had done her bit, with Deepti ticking along like usual, even if she did not quite muster the finishing kick India would have wanted. That meant India have withered away a bit of their early advantage, which was fashioned by a century-run opening stand between Mandhana and Shafali, with the latter going on to score 87 off 78. Harmanpreet and Rodrigues also got starts but were unable to make it count.

298 is not a small score by any stretch, although SA will be pleased with how they brought things back, given that 320 seemed a certainty for India at one stage. Mlaba was the pick of the bunch, with her dismissal of Harmanpreet a potentially key moment. Tryon also bagged the vital scalp of Mandhana, with Khaka overcoming a tough beginning to relish the challenge at the death. No team has ever scored these many to win a Women's World Cup final, but SA do bat deep, and they do know this is a good chasing ground. Ashish will be back in a bit for the start of the chase!

Nonkululeko Mlaba: (On the surface) It was easier for batters earlier on. But we brought it back nicely. The aim was to bowl stump to stump, did not want to leave the wicket, was trying to not get hit for four each and every ball. For spinners, I bowled really slow and that was working for me. (On the score) It is a good score to chase. It is a high-scoring ground and we are going to do this.

de Klerk to Yadav, 1 run, OUT, the bat goes one direction, the ball goes the other, and India finish under 300! Full toss on middle and off. Radha looks to hit it into the Arabian Sea and loses all shape. The ball skews off the outer half of the bat, and the bat drops somewhere near the crease too. Seems like both batters, this time, were intent on chancing their luck on the second but Deepti did not even cross Radha on the second, meaning that Deepti is the one to be dismissed!

de Klerk to Sharma, 1 run, in the air but safe again for Deepti! Off-pace on a length outside off. Deepti advances and swings for the hills. Reaches out too much in front and the bottom hand comes off. Shanks it on the bounce to long on and Deepti does not even think about the second, rather strangely. Radha had to scamper back

de Klerk to Yadav, 1 run, top yorker outside off. Radha squeezes it out towards extra cover and gets Deepti back on strike

de Klerk to Sharma, 1 run, slower ball on a length outside off. Deepti hares down and throws everything at it. Swings too early, though, and the ball squirts off the inside edge past the keeper. Gets a single for her toil

de Klerk to Yadav, 1 run, zipped in full on leg stump. Radha uses the angle and drags it towards deep mid wicket

Radha on strike now. First gig with the bat this World Cup. What a time

de Klerk to Sharma, 1 run, angled across on a length outside off. Deepti takes a step down the track and slices it just past the diving fielder at extra cover. It was in the air and Bosch was the fielder...

de Klerk to bowl the last over. Over the wicket

Khaka to Ghosh, OUT, straight to Dercksen at deep backward square leg, and she makes no mistake! Ghosh cannot believe what she has done! This is smart bowling by Khaka too. She follows Ghosh again with a very full ball. Ghosh tries to bring her wrists into play, gets decent purchase but not the requisite elevation to clear the fielder. Regulation catch completed, and Ghosh walks back after a brisk cameo!

Khaka to Sharma, FOUR, Deepti with a much-needed boundary! Khaka misses the yorker outside off and she travels. Deepti backs away early and crashes it over extra cover!
