1:39pm What a turnaround from England. And what a collapse from a NZ POV. At 89-1, the White Ferns were cruising, with Amelia Kerr and Plimmer looking in good touch. Kerr, though, fell trying to clear the fence and Plimmer followed suit immediately, triggering a collapse that ended with NZ losing their last nine wickets for just 79 runs. Devine, in her last ODI innings, could not bail her side out of trouble either, and that sort of sums up how frustrating this campaign has been for New Zealand.
England were very patchy at the start. Smith could not get her length right, Bell could not make much of an impact as well. But once the spinners started dominating proceedings post the powerplay, NZ did not have many answers. The wickets were shared among those who bowled. But Ecclestone only bowled four balls and was off the field for almost the entirety of the innings, and that could be something to keep an eye on. For now, England will be happy with what they are chasing and will be fancying their chances too. Join Alan in a bit for the chase!
Alice Capsey: Very happy. Nice to get the ball in the hand. We have done really well to restrict them to a low total, and hopefully we can knock them off now. (On which wicket today was her favourite) The first one, because the second was a full toss (smiles). Happy to contribute. (On the pitch) Looked like there was a bit of turn when I was bowling it slower. Start of the spell, it was about bowling as straight as possible. Longer it went on, felt it was hard to hit straight. Take learnings from the first innings and being aware of it when we went out to bat. Pace off and cutters (were effective). Anything that was targeting the stumps was hard to hit. Making sure we have clear plans (for each bowler). No chase is easy, but hopefully (we can chase this down). Fingers crossed.

Well, they say whenever there is a collapse, chances are there may be a run-out too. Sounds about right after that happened moments ago. Carson is the last batter in
