Remarkable finish, good game. One that confirmed this edition's first team to be eliminated. Thanks for joining in, hope you enjoyed our coverage. Take care. Goodnight.

Chamari Athapaththu, Sri Lanka captain We handled pressure till the last over. We kept fighting. We executed plans, dropped catches, made mistakes. Not our best game, lucky to win. We played four games in SL but two were washed out. Too hard to predict weather. One more game left, we'll try our best. If we make the semi-final, it'll be a miracle. After Vishmi, Hasini and I batted well. We lost wickets back to back. We actually have to learn from Bangladesh how to bat in middle overs. If we want to improve women's cricket in SL, we have to play smart, positive cricket. Perera is a senior. She's a good player, hope she plays the best fielder in the future. I knew if the game was taken deep, anything can happen. After Joty fell, I knew it was over. I had two choices for the final over: me or Udeshika. But she said, 'you're in the mood, you bowl'. Hope it doesn't rain during next game. (Laughs)

Nigar Sultana, Bangladesh captain From the start it was our game. We batted really well, but the retired hurt made us lose momentum. And then we lost wickets at crucial stages. We've lost three games like this, it's heartbreaking. At some point or the other, we're falling away from plans. Shorna came in as fifth/sixth bowler and was excellent. You have to take catches. We have a good fielding catch, but we drop catches and it's a mental thing. We'll want to rectify things in the next game. We lost early wickets at the start of the comp. So we decided not to give up early wickets, then build up in the middle and go big in 10-15 overs. You have to finish games in second-last over. We lost it there. We wanted to play our A game, the way we've played throughout, if we give 110% we'll have a good match.

Arun: "IND vs NZ is high stakes now... If NZ wins, then result of NZ vs ENG and IND vs BAN becomes important... If IND wins, IND is qualified.."

Abhijeet Shirgu: "Man that one time I don't check cricinfo and this happens!"

Hasini Perera, POTM This is a very important innings for me and team. Win makes me happy. Our team did really well in the last few overs. Fielders too. (Reverse sweep to get out) I just tried to hit a boundary, should have finished the innings. We would've gotten 30-40 runs more.

taha: "match summary: captain's spell beats the captain's innings"

10:23pm Bangladesh out of the playoffs race. Thriller. Celebrations in the dugout. Athapaththu is steely, Nigar drops her head down in her hands. Delight among SL, they can still hope. That's what they did despite being behind in the chase for the most part. The slow start - 23 for 1 - in the first ten and then Fargana getting run out right after. She was slow and finished with 7 off 35. After Mostary fell to Sugandika, Nigar and Sharmin played risk-free, secure cricket to stitch an 82-run stand. Cramps broke the flow there. A 50-run stand after that kept Bangladesh ahead. That was the case till 12 were needed off 12. But towards the end Sri Lanka's captain took over to help seal an unlikely win.

Athapaththu to Nishita Akter Nishi, 1 run, That is that! SL pull it off the bag, faces being hidden in the Ban dugout. Heads going back, empty gazes after Nishi top edges a full ball to long-on

John ANDREW: "Never seen 4 reds on Cricinfo - amazing stuff !!!!"

Athapaththu to Marufa Akter, OUT, One more. Four in four. Another review. Quick length ball around middle and leg. Marufa was inside the line and probably wanted to get out of the way. But the ball hit the left leg, close to the back of the knee. Review was disallowed. She has to walk back

Marufa Akter lbw b Athapaththu 0 (1m 1b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0

Athapaththu to Nigar Sultana, OUT, A team hat-trick for SL, Nigar doesn't dance down, stays still and looks to launch the fullish ball straight and far. Not middled, goes to long-off! That's the game, right? Has to be

Nigar Sultana c Silva b Athapaththu 77 (135m 98b 6x4 0x6) SR: 78.57

Athapaththu to Nahida Akter, OUT, Direct hit at the non-striker's. Ump clears the spot and decides to review late. Nahida's well short, 9 off 4 now. Full ball outside off, driven off the front foot and took on mid-off

Nahida Akter run out 0 (1m 1b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0

It's flipped again. Bangladesh dugout is tense. Will be Nahida, not Sharmin

Athapaththu to Rabeya Khan, OUT, Rabeya given lbw. Looked out. Reviewed.Fullish length ball landed around off and beat the slog sweep. Hit the front foot around the shin. Landed around off and went going through. Three reds

Rabeya Khan lbw b Athapaththu 1 (3m 3b 0x4 0x6) SR: 33.33

The skipper will close out. 9 needed off 6. That's the case after an amazing three-run over
