New Zealand have the upper hand but can Pakistan start well, get big partnerships, or have big performances to help attain what would be a memorable win? Find out in the chase, Srivatsha will join in about five overs. Till, then I'll continue. Here are some comments for now.

Andrea MacEache: "so Happy for Suzette Bates and Katie Martin but the star for me was Nida Dar - she's amazing."

Isha kathuria: "Just for everyone's info , NZ needed to beat Pakistan by the margin of 280 runs to cross India's RR."

Sheela Kamath: "Hope, Pakistan overtake this score."

Vasumathy ER : "Katey Martin just looked determined to push the scoring!!! Meant business right away!!! What a finish!!! "

Tautoru : "About par I think. Great fight back at the end. "

Dylan Pyper: "Katey Martin is criminally underrated. Average ain't that great but always comes in 40 overs and can get a quick 30, also love her technique"

Greg: "How does a 3 become a 2 with a short run? - shouldn't that become a 1 as they didn't complete either of those runs?" No, only one run only is deducted.

Robert: "NZ need to get to 250 and bat out their overs - opposite goals! "

Andrew Miller: "Once again, one score, no one else passes 30, A lot of soft dismissals and the innings plodding to an inglorious conclusion. They may never have the quality through the side of other countries, but there's no reason they can't do the basics better. A better mental approach and they'd have probably made the semis. " And closing out a couple of tight finishes...

Croadie: "Feeling like I've been conned. Watched out national team every game in the belief they were something special. There lack of application has been astounding. Soo disappointed. "

Suzie Bates, 126 (135): It's been a tough tournament for the team and myself, everyday you want to turn up and play your role for the team but it hasn't worked out this tournament. So it's nice to score some runs after having talked internally and with the friends about how special it is to play for New Zealand. I had no idea about the 5000-run mark. I don't follow the stats and the focus was on setting up a good score. But it is special and I'll probably reflect on it tonight and am sure that there are some pretty big names in the 5000-club. It doesn't mean much at the moment but will a lot more with time. I thought 250 would be a good score and anything above would be handy. I wanted to bat with Katey but couldn't. It was great to see her finish the innings which was a team goal all this tournament.

2:29 pm: New Zealand end on a high thanks to Katey Martin, who might have played her last innings, and end up close to, if not a par score. Suzie Bates set things up perfectly with a significant 126. She shepherded decent partnerships and predominantly scored the boundaries to ensure the score was not decelerating. Once she was dismissed, there were wickets and a slowdown before Martin and Mackay applied finishing touches with the last two overs yielding 32 runs. Pakistan's bowling was decent in parts, Nida Dar was sensational. Diana Baig's finger injury may have prevented her from bowling a few more overs. Anam was not as effective as she was the other day. The team tried to be exuberant in the field but could not take all chances.
