Thanks Ekanth! We are ready for the chase. Devine is not on the field. Satterthwaite will captain. Jess Kerr has the ball and we are all set.

Kate Cross also said that the pitch is good and England should get this if they bat through the overs. Can they? I'll go in for a penny, in for a pound over predictions and say England will cruise this. Wouldn't be surprised if New Zealand bowl them out for 150 if rain doesn't continue because this tournament has made a mockery of foresight. Here are some comments before Srivathsa comes in for potentially his third close finish in as many days.

seb: "why is the runs needed in 20 overs at such a higher run rate than new zealand scored in their innings?" The adjustments will be made for wickets and the resources available. Click here for the broad details. To reiterate, If England's chase is curtailed to 20 overs, their target will be 120. (140 in 25, 157 in 30, 172 in 35, 184 in 40, 195 in 45)

Raji: "The way all these teams are playing, it's not fair for aus team. They are on different level and deserve to be champion. Hope they won't have a bad day during knock out. " Let's just say people are different. Raji's made another dicey but self-aware comment on which you can share your thoughts: "Many won't agree.. but Amy and Amelia are the main reason.. they should have taken singles and avoided too many dot balls.. they lost their wickets trying to catch up.. "

Bimal: "@Raji, I don't think Australia is as strong as people think. England and India lost to them by very narrow margins. They lost badly to NZ in warm-up too. I think the only reason why they are so hard to beat is because they handle the pressure situations very well. "

Satvik Agrawal: "140 in 25 overs looks perfect from NZ point of view. "

Andrew Miller: "If the White Ferns are ever to get back to being one of the best sides everyone involved needs to start with some honesty, that that was pathetic. So many soft dismissals given the circumstances is frankly embarrassing. "

Stew costello: "A good game set up here, let's hope the weather allows a result. Let the teams play!"

Richard: "Kerr, J showing the others how it's done - having Tahuhu at 7 and her at 11 shows how confused and rudderless this team is at present!"

Dante: "The Scroteshire 2nd 11 would have put on a more convincing batting display." Not sure what team that is but okay.

Ray: "Amateur hour, women's cricket in NZ just went backwards ten years" With all due credit to availability bias, this was the sentiment after the West Indies v Bangladesh game which is still hard to recover from.

Ben: "NZ..done England done Aussies soon!" This like the thing Ian Higgins did on The Grade Cricketer after the Australia V Pakistan Semi-Final. All this needs is a bit of champing.

Nasser Hussain reckons the pitch is still good, and that Cross was effective because of her tight lengths and that Dean was excellent with her variations.

Rahul: "And NZ had to pound ONLY India, didn't they? They came a cropper against Aus (okay it's Aus!), and fell short against SA and now (nearly) Eng.Which way shall we look at it?? Very unfortunate India for NZ having an eagle eye out for only them (starting with the bilaterals)?!?! Or, be very honest and know where India Women stand in the cluster of "Aus-Eng-SA-NZ-Ind" today!!"

Akash: "Aus will definitely lift the trophy. rest of the teems just fighting for be a runner up." Thanks for all the comments, next up, you'll be hearing from Srivastha.

A couple of stats worth noting sent in by Sampath:

New Zealand after the fall of 6th wicket in ODIs in 2022: In the India series - 232 runs @ 25.7 per wicket across 11 partnerships In this World Cup - 242 runs @ 12.7 per wicket across 20 partnerships

If England's chase is curtailed to 20 overs, their target will be 120. (140 in 25, 157 in 30, 172 in 35, 184 in 40, 195 in 45)

2:15 pm: New Zealand manage to just get past 200. After a decent start, they fell prey to regular wickets, following an injury to Sophie Devine which held them back. All the top-5 batters got starts but could not carry on. Kate Cross and Charlie Dean were game-changers, hitting good lengths and enticing shots that led to dismissals. The runs at the end from Green and Kerr propel them past 200 but will that be enough against a strong English batting line-up? There was rain as the innings got over but wind seems to be more prominent as the commentators are out for the mid-innings show.
