Welcome back! Thanks Ekanth. Terrific job again over the 50 overs. The West Indies look in great spirits, high-fiving each other as they step out onto the field. Out come the openers and it will be spin to start. Hayley Matthews to begin. Shamima and Sharmin out there. A slip in.

The pitch looks okay but the dryness and assistance for spin can make things interesting. So can the swing upfront for the quicks with the new ball. 60-40 Bangladesh seems a reasonable call, please mention in the comments why that is the only correct probability for now. Before Srivathsa comes on to take over for the second innings, let's get into some comments.

Sahil: " An eventful first innings comes to an end with a recovery from New Zealand but Bangladesh should still consider themselves favourites - Recovery from New Zealand. I think you still have NZ in your mind after yesterday's thrilled match."

Alan: ""2:05 pm: An eventful first innings comes to an end with a recovery from New Zealand" Nooo....last attempt to put this right...." Done, thanks and sorry.

VL: "Trust me. This match is going to be a thriller!"

austen: "I know the old adage of doubling the score after 30 overs if wickets are in hand. I didn't realise that meant doubling the score after 35 overs if you DON'T have wickets in hand, like the WI have done here!"

Gagan: "BD being sloppy at the end and leaking runs now. Anything above 140 would be tough on this pitch!!"

srj: "It isn't over yet. Bangladesh have collapsed chasing lower targets in the past."

As for the West Indies, the openers looked to have consciously kept away the big shots. It helped lay a platform. But loss of wickets and inability to rotate strike against spin resurfaced to keep them behind the 8-ball. The partnerships between Shemaine Campbelle and Afy Fletcher, and then with Karishma Ramharack helped them get to 140, which is low but it could have been worse.

2:05 pm: An eventful first innings comes to an end with a recovery from West Indies but Bangladesh should still consider themselves favourites. This innings started with attritional batting from the explosive openers who held their aggressive disposition to see through the new ball. At the ten over mark, Jahanara had removed Dottin and the score was 34 but there were wickets in hand... until of course the spinners came on. Salma Khatun, Nahida Akter, and Rumana Ahmed were outstanding. There were multiple blocks of ten overs where no boundary was scored. The aggressive field-settings denied the batters singles. Wickets came about due to the build-up of pressure as well as the odd run-outs. The energy on the field was terrific. There were misfields and the odd drop catches but Bangladesh were moving on.
