England are favourites, particularly (as Sophie Ecclestone mentioned) after almost chasing down 300. But the West Indies did well to recover from what could have been a potentially meteoric collapse. Both teams will have a reason to be optimistic. How will that translate in the second innings? We'll find out in a bit.

Karl: "Dropped catches, by England, was a feature of the just completed Ashes. There were a number of times they let us (Aus) off the hook. And we did make them pay."

2:19 pm: That innings had ebb and flow. But for West Indies, they were unfavourably disproportionate. The start was brilliant with boundaries arriving frequently but after the quicks, particularly Cross, started going fuller the runs dried. Ecclestone's deliveries were playing tag with the outside edge, she was giving no pace for the batters to work with. Triple that with tight field settings and West Indies' inability to turn strike, the wickets came in a flurry. Heather Knight's bowling was good as well. If the count is right, there were seven dropped chances, maybe not as costly as they should have been but it's definitely a concern that needs to be addressed and reduced for England.

Andrew: "@sahil I think you are being a bit harsh on the West Indies, they only have 3 class players in Dottin, Matthews and Taylor, so when they lose those 3 quickly, they are going to struggle. A good recovery by these 2, gives them something to defend at least"
