Welcome back. The Pakistani team is in a huddle. A long one at that. Out walk the players. The sun is out even as the lights are on. Brilliant late evening in Tauranga. Healy and Haynes in the middle. Diana with the new ball with a wide slip in.
5:15pm Australia's spinners were on the mark, keeping the batters on a leash. Alana King finished with two wickets while fellow leggie Amanda-Jade Wellington picked one. Jess Jonassen was wicketless but kept things tight with an economical spell, including the one at the death. 191 should be a walk in the park for Australia on current form but I will use a cliche to end - cricket is a funny game. Join us for the chase in about half an hour.
Abdullah : "190 with 2 boundaries in the last over. The score somewhat looks better"
"Very happy with my performance today," says Aliya Riaz. "We discussed about staying in the middle longer and build a partnership and it worked. There is turn on the pitch."
Shaheer: "When you look at how Pakistan has historically batted against teams like Australia, this is a very encouraging total. For sure there 30-40 runs short of making this interesting but some early wickets can always make things interesting. "
5:10pm Bismah Maroof and Aliya Riaz's efforts have meant Pakistan have a decent score on board, might still not be enough. But life for them was very different at 44 for 4. From there, to get close to 200 is a good job, indeed. The pair added 99 for the fifth wicket, the best for Pakistan in ODIs but unfortunately could never tee off, thanks to a strong Australian bowling.
The field is up on the off side.
Schutt with the final one
