5.40 pm Sri Lanka had all the momentum even as late as the 36th over. They were 204 for 2 and would be disappointed to end up on 296. But once their centurion Lahiru Thirimanne was dismissed - off a beauty from Saeed Ajmal - Pakistan woke up and struck back. They got the yorkers in, Shahid Afridi's variations made their impact as they often do and in the end, this might well be a total Pakistan would fancy chasing. Join us in half an hour for the chase
Dinesh Chandimal though reckons Sri Lanka have posted enough. "Yeah, we are really happy with the way we batted. Sanga and Thirimanne gave us a really good start and Mathews gave us the finish. [On him coming at No.8] It was the best way to go, with the left and right hand combination. The pitch not quite easy to bat on, slow and holds up. Might be a good total. Dew will come into play but our bowlers would still do well"
Mujtaba: "another same pattern game between the two teams. Srilanka toporder started brightly, then PK bowlers made good come back then SL still finished strong... what to follow::: PK top order would start brightly but will soon falter only for good old Misbah to lead fight back...."
C.Srihari: "Junaid Khan is one of the most underrated bowlers. Look at his strike rate and economy. Guess most captains would pencil him in their teams. He seems marked for bigger things."
