Scorer: Ranjith P | Commentator: Abhimanyu Bose

6pm And now Australia lift the Under-19 World Cup trophy. Dixon holds the trophy up as they walk back. Oh no, they have to step back for a team photo. That's a picture they won't forget. This is a day they won't forget. And I'm sure they will have a lot of celebrating to do. The Indian players will be heartbroken, but they can be proud of the way they performed throughout the tournament. Shashank's report is up, so do hop over to find out how the game went, if you missed it. That will be all from us today. On behalf of Shashank, Ranjith, Raghav and everyone else at ESPNcricinfo, this is Abhimanyu signing off. Good night!

5.41pm The presentation ceremony is coming up soon.

Anrich Nortje, the tournament ambassador, hands the player of the match award to Mahli Beardman. "It's pretty surreal, hasn't fully set in yet. But it's something we've been working towards for a long, long time so the hard work has paid off. [On plans against India] They've been incredible and we knew it was going to be a good battle. For me I just wanted to use my short balls and hit the top of off. I've been thinking about my bowling, my field settings. Just trying to work on the mental side of the ball. [On Vidler] He's been incredible. Pleasure to bowl alongside him and the rest of the cartel. He was incredible and England and crazy here as well. [Future hopes] Hopefully the Big Bash and play for my state."

South Africa fast bowler Kwena Maphaka is named the player of the tournament: "Really means a lot. I've put in a lot of work for this and I am really happy that I could come out and have a good tournament. Unfortunately couldn't take my team to the final, but happy I could play well. Definitely worked on my inswinger a lot. [On chats with Nortje] We were just really talking about inswingers, outswingers, things like that to work on for the future. Super eager. It's going to be an amazing thing [if he can make the national team] but there's lot of hard work to do."

The Indian players now pick up their runners-up medals.

India captain Uday Saharan: "It was a very good tournament. I am very proud of the boys, they all played very well. They all showed great fighting spirit from the start, very proud of them. [On facing Australia's bowling] We played a few rash shots, couldn't spend more time at the crease. We had prepared, but couldn't execute. [Learnings from the tournament] Got to learn a lot from the start to now. From the coaching staff to the games, learned a lot. Now we just need to keep learning more and move ahead."

The Australian players now pick up their winners medals!

Hugh Weibgen: "It's unbelievable. I am so proud of this group of boys and the coaches. A lot of work has gone in over the last few months. Fair bit of confidence that if we got 250 on the board we'd defend it. [On Harjas] Form is temporary, class is permanent. Full credit to the coaches for keeping faith in him. We had full faith he could get the job done. India obviously a class side, they dominated the whole tournament and they were on the wrong side today but they have a lot of class. [On the fast bowlers] Personally, as a unit they work so well together. They know their roles, they know their jobs. I'll be very surprised if the four of them don't go a long way."

5.35pm Here are some reactions from the Australian players.

Konstas: "I'm lost for words. It's been an amazing journey. Amazing atmosphere here and India are so good, they are the benchmark, but to get the win here, I'm so proud of the boys. It's been a great effort and credit to our coaches, they've been amazing really. We just stuck to our plans and processes and gave it our all. Lucky to be able to execute today."

Vidler: "It's crazy and a memory I'll definitely remember for the rest of my life. Once in a lifetime opportunity. And to do it with Mahli, Tom and Charlie, there's no better feeling."

Beardman: "Still not sunk in but to stand here with Cal [Vidler] and the rest of the [fast-bowling] cartel feels brilliant. We all get along really well as mates so that chemistry really helps. [Who is the fastest in the team?] Doesn't matter, we won a World Cup!"

Straker: "It's a great feeling, we worked two years for this. We love each other, we love the four quicks playing together."

Anderson: "It's awesome. You don't get to play a World Cup final every day."

5.30pm There it is, Australia are the winners of the 2024 Under-19 World Cup! It was a real team effort as they overcame a very strong Indian side in the final. A first fifty in the tournament from Harjas Singh and scores in the forties by captain Weibgen, opener Harry Dixon and middle-order batter Oliver Peake helped them register the highest score in an U-19 World Cup final. Then the bowlers never let India get away. Hugs and high-fives all around as Tiwari and Pandey make the long walk back. Vidler of course got the first strike before getting the last wicket, Beardman and MacMillan picked three each while Straker and Anderson also got themselves on the wickets column. There were some dropped chances, but India never threatened to punish them after Australia dominated with the ball in the fist powerplay.

Mustafa Moudi: "Women's T20 WC 2023, WTC 2023, CWC 2023 and now U19 WC 2024 - This is just unreal domination from Australia Across Formats, Levels and Genders. Congratulations to the Australian U19 Team. Hard Luck Team India !!"

Straker to Pandey, OUT, That is that. Australia are Under-19 world champions! Dug in short and Pandey looks to ramp it but just gets an edge to the keeper. Australia have dominated the final and off they go celebrating!
