Champions in 2013. Runner-up in 2017. Champions in 2025, again. And I suspect this will be really special for the Indian team as they go through to the end undefeated. Sidharth Monga's report is up. Do have a read if you missed any of the game. Thanks for tuning in tonight. Hope you had as much fun as we did bringing it to you. Till then, this is me Ashish Pant, signing off on behalf of Ekanth, Ranjith and Raghav. Ciao!

9.09pm Rohit now steps forward to collect the Champions Trophy from Jay Shah, the ICC Chair. Huge smiles as Rohit poses for the shutterbugs. The rest of the Indian team now steps in. Lots of champagne flowing, lots of dancing happening. The Dubai skyline is lit by the fireworks. All smiles in the Indian camp and I am sure this will continue deep into the night. The team now poses behind the Champions logo. Kohli has absolutely drenched Pant in champagne. Hardik gets across and plants the Champions Trophy right in the centre of the pitch, and then brings out his iconic pose as if to say... what's the fuss all about. Rohit is calling the players for a lap of honour around the stadium. The stadium DJ is belting out Chak de India with the entire stadium joining in. Shreyas Iyer breaks out into a jig. They also pose for a picture with the support staff even as Harshit Rana breaks out into a bhangra.

The Indian team will now step forward to collect their white blazers which is presented to the team winning the Champions Trophy. Varun, Gill, Iyer come up first to collect the jacket from Roger Binny. Here comes Jadeja followed by Kohli. Hardik Pandya next. Pant, Axar, KL Rahul, Harshit Rana, Mohammed Shami, Arshdeep Singh, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav and last but not least, here comes Rohit to collect his jacket

Rohit Sharma: I appreciate everyone who came to support us. The crowd has been amazing. Not our home ground but they made it our home ground. Very satisfying win. Right form the beginning our spinners... there is too much expectation but they never disappointed. It helped them and we used that to our advantage. We were very consistent with our bowling. [KL] A very solid mind, never gets overawed with the pressure around him. He finished off the game for us. He picks the right shot to play in the pressure situation which allows the rest of the batters to play freely. For eg, Hardik. The overall batsmanship shown by all the batters was special. [On Chakravarthy] He has something different about him. When you are playing on such a pitch, you want to have something like him. He didn't start but played later and got wickets. Luckily for us, it came to use. Very grateful for the fans. We really appreciate their support. It may not be seen as useful but when they come out, it makes a difference.

The victorious Indian team now steps forward to pick up their winning medals

Mitchell Santner: It's been a good tournament. We have been challenged along the way and the way we have grown as a group. We lost to a better side today. Everyone contributed to the tournament and put their hands up at different rimes. It was good bowling. We lost a couple of wickets after the powerplay and they really got the squeeze on. Credit to how their spinners how they bowled. They are world-class bowlers. We were 20 or 25 under to what we were looking for. [Phillips catch] That man he keeps doing it. The way Rohit and Gill went about it was great. Rohit going at almost run a ball on that wicket was outstanding. We knew the game could change quickly and that happened. [On Ravindra] We have seen how he steps up in these tournaments. With the ball as well he stepped up. He understands the game at such a young age. He's got a massive future. Even today, he went over a run a ball. [First ICC tournament as captain] It has been very enjoyable. Made easy by the group. Different guys stepping up at different times makes it easy. We have had a few challenges but we have adapted. It has been a great tournament.

First of, there are medals presented to the match referee and the on-field umpires, third umpire and fourth umpire. Next up, the runner-up medals being distributed to the NZ team.

Presentation time

Rachin Ravindra is the player of the tournament: Certainly is bitter-sweet. Was a glorious final. The individual accolades are great and playing for a team is great. [What makes you such a great ICC player?] Maybe we get to play on a good wicket. I like playing tournament cricket because you are playing for a goal. Very proud of my past. Have so many people to thank. It would have been nice to have the icing on the cake with the trophy but cricket is a cruel game. All members of the squad have a part to play. There isn't an established player or a newbie. We go about our business and play like a team.

Rohit Sharma is the player of the match: It is very nice. We played some good cricket though the tournament. To have the result our way is a great feeling. [Aggressive style] Not natural to me, but something I really wanted to do. When you are doing something different, you have to have the backing of the team and management. I spoke to Rahul bhai earlier and now Gauti bhai as well. It is something I really wanted to do. I have played all these years in a different style, and now we are getting the results with this. We have to understand the nature of the surfaces and I was very clear about how I wanted to execute the first five-six overs. I have gotten out as well earlier, but the execution matters. The depth gives me the freedom and it helps. With Jadeja coming at 8, it gives you the confidence to go hard up front. As long as I am clear in my mind, it is great.

Virat Kohli: It's been amazing, we wanted to bounce back after a tough Australia tour. Lovely playing with a bunch of amazing youngsters. They're stepping up and taking India in the right direction. After playing for so long, you look forward to playing under pressure. To win titles, the whole team has to step up in different games. People have played such impactful knocks and had spells, that collective effort is what has done it for us. I try to speak to these guys, try to share my experience, tell them how I've played for so long. When you leave, you want to leave in a better position. So many impactful knocks Gill, Shreyas, Rahul, et al have played. The team is in good hands. We've always been in awe of what NZ can do with limited no. of players. They come in with a set plan. Every fielder knows where the bowler will bowl. They have immense belief in their skills, best fielding side. Huge shoutout to them. Sad to see a very good friend (Kane Williamson) on the losing side, only love between us.

Shubman Gill: Felt amazing. For the most time, I sat back and enjoyed Rohit's batting. He told me doesn't matter how the scoreboard gap is, the aim was to bat till the end. We missed out in 2023, happy to win eight ODIs back to back. Seeing the intensity with which he plays with is amazing. He keeps telling us to give it everything and backs it up. NZ are very consistent and execute plans accurately. We know they give it their all. They showed it tonight with the consistency.

Kuldeep Yadav: Luckily my batting wasn't needed. KL and Hardik did brilliantly. I don't believe in favorites tags but we have been doing brilliantly. This win is dedicated to our fans. It is easy to say that four spinners in the team, but it is very tough to manage four spinners. There was a lot of planning and all credit to Rohit bhai. Big party tonight.

Varun: It was a sudden inclusion and I didn't expect it to turn out like this. It's a dream come true. We had to stick to our lengths.

Hardik Pandya: Always amazing to win an ICC event. I remember 2017 very closely, couldn't finish that time. Very pleased to have done it here. KL was calm, he took his chances at the right time. He has immense talent, no one can time it as well as him.

Shreyas Iyer: Feeling ecstatic. This is my first ICC trophy, kinda overwhelmed looking at each and everyone in the dressing room. I love to go under pressure, I thrive. Not able to get a big one but immensely satisfying to contribute to win. These are the lucky earrings, they'll stay on.

Ravindra Jadeja: That is how it is with me; sometimes a hero, sometimes a zero. The wicket was not easy for a new batter. Hardik and KL were great. Winning the CT is a huge thing. If you don't win a big tournament after playing so long, it hurts.

KL Rahul: Not sure I can say this on air but I was s****** myself. As confident as I could be that I could get over the line. Keeping composure is all that matters, happy to have done it this time. I've batted in times like this in three out of the five games. Hard to put in words, but the team has pure skill. The way we've all had to play cricket growing up, we faced pressure from the time we became professional cricketers. The BCCI have groomed all of them and we've challenging ourselves to get better. Some pitch-side interviews.

Mustafa Moudi : "2022 - Reached SF but Lost, 2023 - Reached Finals of WTC and WC but lost both the Finals, 2024 - Won the T20 WC and 2025 - Won the CT. India is only improving under Rohit Sharma in ICC Tournaments!!"

Niklesh : "Jadeja scoring the winning runs will complete the circle from 2019 cwc"

Uzair: "Not sure why Jamieson wasn't given the ball instead of Rourke earlier. He bowled 4 good overs earlier. "

GauravDhiman: "While I am not denying that India had an advantage of not having to travel over the other teams, they also did not win a single toss in the tournament. So all opponents had the chance to make the better use of the conditions on that day but India still emerged victorious. "

Teams to lose all tosses in a men's ODI series/tournament but did not lose a game (Min: 5 matches)

New Zealand vs India, 2014 (4 wins, 1 tie) England vs Australia, 2018 (5 wins) India in Champions Trophy 2025 (5 wins)

8.20pm The Dubai sky is lit up as India register claim their third Champions Trophy title. Lots of smiles and handshakes in the middle. Jadeja, Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh break into a Gangnam style dance. Kohli and Rohit do the dandiya dance with the stumps. Varun Chakravarthy is all smiles. He has turned the narrative in India's favour right from the time he's come into the team. The Indian chase got off to a super start thanks largely to Rohit Sharma, who put on 105-run stand for the opening wicket. Then New Zealand bounced back with three quick wickets with spin doing the damage. But, Axar Patel and Shreyas Iyer steadied the ship to take the team forward. A couple of quick wickets brought NZ back again, but Rahul and Pandya took India to the finishing line before Jadeja finished things off. A word on the brilliance of New Zealand. They didn't have their best bowler in the game, yet pushed India to the brink.

O'Rourke to Jadeja, FOUR, INDIA WIN THE CHAMPIONS TROPHY! A third title for them in the competition. And this surely has to be the most comprehensive. Unbeaten all through the tournament and have rarely been challenged at any stage. It is Ravindra Jadeja, who hits the winning runs. Pulls this past deep square leg and into the fence. Raises his arms in delight, so does Rahul as the rest of the team rushes out to the middle. A second straight ICC title for India.
