Rashid: "Considering pitch condition I think Afghanistan are 25 runs short. Ahh.... Last over from Livingstone could be a deciding factor in England winning cause."
Krish: "How much ever belter of a pitch it is, kindly remember the attack on the other end is Afghanistan bowlers, and their record defending any sort of totals."
Murali Krishnan: "Australia the other day chased 350 against this English attack easily here. Hope the English batters can chase this 325 if not easily at least chase against this Afghanistan attack."
Navid Numan: "good total on the board and it well not be easy for England, if dew not disturb we will have a competitive game."
Nazir Ahamed: "I'm very curious about the celebration of Zadrans' ton. Anyone have any idea???" -- He said that it was about his pre-match chat with Rashid, as mentioned below.
5.55pm: Such an impressive innings from Zadran. Some outrageous shots - the on-drive for six off Archer at the death stands out - but also remarkable fitness, running four twos in the 46th over, and mental strength to drag Afghanistan out of their early hole. Interesting to hear him talk about wanting to put pressure on himself to make a big score at the innings break... when was the last time you heard an England batter talk like that? We'll be back in 30 for the run chase, where Vithushan Ehantharajah will talk you through the first 15.
5.50pm: England need 326 to keep their Champions Trophy campaign alive and knock Afghanistan out. They started very well with the ball, reducing Afghanistan to 37 for 3 as Jofra Archer starred with the new ball. But a 103-run partnership between Ibrahim Zadran and Hashmatullah Shahidi got Afghanistan back in the game, setting a platform for the back end. Zadran's magnificent 177 - a Champions Trophy record - was supported by cameos from Azmat and Nabi. England were ragged in the field, with Wood struggling through an injury and their attack looking utterly toothless at the back end as they disappeared for 113 runs in the final 10 overs.
"It's not easy to come back to international cricket in 50 overs after my injury, after seven months," Ibrahim Zadran says. "I haven't played ODI cricket for the last one year. The expectation was there from me. I was trying to put a little bit of pressure on myself. [What have you worked on?] I was trying to take time and work on my basics. I always try to keep it simple. [Advice from Afg mentor Younis Khan?] He is sharing his experience with us. I am trying to talk to him a lot during the nets sessions, and I have chatted to Jonathan Trott in the last two sessions. I just asked him, 'What do you see, anything different?' He said, 'You're playing very well. Once you cross 40, you'll play a big innings.' I brought that into my game. Before the game, I had a chat with Rashid. Whenever I chat with Rashid, I get a score."
Rashid Khan walks out, helmetless.

Gulbadin. Five balls left.
Jp: "Everyone is basically conceding that England have lost….Wouldn't surprise me one bit if they come out and chase this down in 40 overs." -- It would be a major departure from their recent ODI form... but it is a belter of a pitch.

Livingstone to bowl the 50th. Back on the field after a niggle. Wood has two over unused but is off with an injury again. Root's last one disappeared for 23.

Dom: "I can't believe a professional cricket coach can't work out you need more variation than simply players bowling fast in the modern white ball format."
