11.35pm What a night. Jos Buttler came back to form, Sanju Samson batted long enough, Yuzvendra Chahal was sensational, and yet the Player of the Match is a batter who faced seven balls for the side that miraculously won in the end. RR looked deflated and crestfallen after the defeat. It is going to be a big test for emotions for RR in how they come back from here. To not make the playoffs after the start they had to the season will haunt them for years. Some of their tactics have been weird all season. But tonight is the night of SRH, who just hung in for long enough and were good enough to cash in on the many errors of RR. They have been losing matches they should have won; for a change they have won one they should have lost. With those thoughts, we leave you, looking forward to more of this tomorrow.

11.30pm Glenn Phillips' cameo has won him the Player-of-the-Match award. He says, and this is not verbatim: It was a situation where it can go only one of two ways. At the end of the day, we are trying to do a job. On another day I might not get that. At the end of the day, that ball that I got out to was the one I should have hit the most. I was disappointed that I didn't hit the actual slot ball. Thankfully Samad finished it off, and we were also lucky with the no-ball.

11.25pm Aiden Markram says, and this is not verbatim: The emotions changed quite quickly. Nice for us to get over the line. Everyone contributed. We knew on a quick outfield like this we could catch up. Abhishek got off to a great start, Tripathi kept the momentum going, and you only need a few cameos after that. I wish I could answer how Phillips and Samad do what they did.

11.20pm So here the are two sticky choices RR made. M Ashwin was having a tough night even before he bowled his third over, and RR had plenty of options. Did they really need to bowl a third from M Ashwin? And with 41 required off the last two, most captains kill the game with their best option bowling the 19th over, but with Sandeep and McCoy around, RR went to the inexperienced Kuldip Yadav, who began to miss his yorker and Glenn Phillips hit 6, 6, 6, 4 to turn the game on its head. Then again, you might argue KKR needed 43 in the last two, GT bowled their best bowler in the 19th, and still couldn't defend 28 in the last. But those things are much rarer than the 19th over going for plenty.

11.15pm A tough interview for Samson so soon after losing such a match. Abdul Samad is happier. He says, and it is not verbatim: "We realised it was a no-ball after we had crossed so I asked Marco to come back. I was just waiting for something in my zone, and I was lucky. Both with that ball and the no-ball. Glenn Phillips was the game-changer for us."

11.12pm Sanju Samson says, and this is not verbatim: "Matches like this make IPL special. You can never never feel you have won the game until you have won it. I was confident in Sandeep, but that no-ball... They batted sensibly, and credit has to go to them the way they batted. Life is never easy playing this format in this tournament. You have to be at your best each and every game. We will come back and do it all over again.

11.09pm Wow what a turnaround. RR had this game won many times over, but they kept letting SRH back in. And SRH kept punching back. A life line for SRH, a possible knockout punch for RR. If they don't make the playoffs, RR will looks back at their tactics in this game with some anger. And the keeping of Samson

Sandeep Sharma to Abdul Samad, SIX, and SRH have pulled off a heist here. Hearts broken inside the RR camp. One run-out, two simple catches, and SRH have capitalised. Sandeep goes wide again, goes for the yorker, misses it by a few inches, and Samad slams it back over his head for a flat six after having shuffled across

A free hit now. Three to tie, four to win. How has it come down to this? Worried faces in the RR camp. All on Sandeep now

Sandeep Sharma to Abdul Samad, 1 no ball, Sandeep finishes it off again. Oh no. Stop the celebrations. Sandeep is raising a finger to the sky, but it turns out he has overstepped. The dreaded siren goes off. He has gone really full, nearly a yorker, and Samad drills it straight down to long-off

Four for the tie, five for the win. RR must be wondering how it has come down to this

Sandeep Sharma to Jansen, 1 run, Jansen shuffles across, Sandeep missies the yorker, but the lower full toss is hit straight to deep midwicket for one

Sandeep Sharma to Abdul Samad, 1 run, a low full toss, a really low full toss, dug out to long-off for one

Sandeep Sharma to Abdul Samad, 2 runs, yorker spot on, dug out, not enough power in it, and that allows them a second

Sandeep Sharma to Abdul Samad, SIX, and Samad proceeds to rub it in. Sandeep nearly nails the yorker outside off, Samad drills it straight down the ground. It is sailing over Root, who leaps and gets a left hand on it, but can't keep it in
